Hi guys! I just wanted to ask you for some recommendations on headphones for mixing and production, I was looking for the best possible option specifically in terms of brands and models in of mid-range or mid-high range due to budget limitations.

The only thing I know about the subject is that the most "flat" sound possible is sought so that it respects the fidelity of the audio both when listening to tracks from other artists and when creating your own. I also understand that the most professional option is to use speakers, but due to the place where I produce and since I am at a fairly intermediate level, I preferred to go for the headphones option.

Imagine that until now I was using simple Samsung earphones that used to come with old Galaxy devices, I used to get them separately at a good price, and to my inexperienced ear, the fact that they didn't have bass boost and that they were loud compared to other products was enough for me, I was literally saving this question for the day I couldn't get that model anymore, the day that finally arrived (they were the round black ones that came before the white ones that for some reason had fewer holes to let out the volume completely).

EDIT: My budget is arround $300

I would appreciate any kind of guide and recommendation!!!!

The best recommendation I can give: Go visit a real shop that sells headphones of the brands AKG, Sennheiser, BeyerDynamic and such. Try them all out. Bring a CD with some reference tunes, and bring your current earbuds.

Have you made up your mind over whether you want a (half) open or closed model?

Apart from fidelity you also want comfort. Both are personal things. No headphone is perfect in all aspects, so you'll have to find the compromise that best fits you. A trip to the shop can save you a bunch of ordering and returning and never really being satisfied.

NB, if you ask me, the Samsung Galaxy earbuds (even the white model) are actually pretty decent. Especially for the price: they last much longer than the phones they come with, so I have two or three of them.

Just stay clear of the vastly enormously overrated dt770 pro. They sound horrible compared to pretty much anything. They're tanks meant for long studio sessions while tracking, when cheap and sturdy is more important than good sound. So they're very popular in such studio settings and for good reason.
Somehow somewhere this popularity became skewed by the Internet to mean that they're popular cause they sound good, which they don't.
Unless ofc you enjoy piercing treble and strange bass response.

Just leaving this here inb4 the recommendations of these start pouring in as they always do.

I wouldn't suggest running after the most flat response, few dbs here and there can be fixed during mastering.
Instead, search for a comfortable headphones that don't sound harsh so you could enjoy the process.
Headphones comfort is different between every person.
I can suggest headphones I use, HD 6xx from Massdrop.

Had them for few weeks, the 250ohms version. They are harsh and feel cheap.
Funny thing, one can get HD6xx from Massdrop approximately for the same price, and they are on another level.

Yeah, go listen to a couple of headphones. Also keep in mind they should be comfortable.

I'd suggest you also look into Audio Technica ATH m50s

No, it cannot be "fixed during mastering". Wtf does that even mean? How can a headphone frequency response be "fixed" in mastering?

Why do you suggest the m50x? Honestly. It's because half the Internet says they're good right? They're like 770 pro. Vastly overrated. At least they're better than the dts

The hd6xx cannot even be put in the same sentence as 770 pro..
The 770 are closed, cheap, built like a tank.
The HD6xx are open, expensive (sort of), and not for studio use. It's like comparing an apple to an orange

As I said I also recommend trying different ones. Suggesting them because I really like mine. When I got them several years ago I mainly compared them to AKGs though.

I like the $99 Sennheiser hd280pro . I bought some Beyerdynamic Dt770 , and ended up selling them and bought the Sennheiser hd280pro , reissues . I like them . I'd love to have a wired version of Apple Airpod 2 Pros though . Don't think they any only Bluetooth .

The Sennheiser HD280PRO have a peak around 1 kHz (for utilitarian vocal clarity?) if I remember correctly from their frequency response graph. But they have tons of bass and a nice tight fit. I used to have some until they broke.

Later on, I moved to AudioTechnica, which I prefer for excellent stereo imaging and high frequency clarity. They tend to supposedly give less ear fatigue but some models might have less bass. I think I had the ATH m30s or something. But they got stolen.

lol
what you are talking about? of course they are for studio!
dt cost $170, hd6xx cost $200, not that much of a difference.
dt has the open back version which is the same crap

 dude what you are smoking
fixing frequencies on the master, not on headphones.

The DT770 are fully closed over-ear headphones - never heard anyone recommending these for mixing - do you perhaps confuse the with the 990?

...they are however great headphones for recording - one of the best if you ask me.
