Cherry Audio's next synth is (probably) a Polivoks on steroids

I'm not sure, $49 seems cheap enough to me. I think you should just go for it! You won't be sorry.

^^^ +1. At $49 it is quite reasonable (IMHO), and the best sale price one could anticipate will likely be $39.00 at some point within six months to a year or so.[2c]

Spent some quality time with Atomika and it ended up becoming a whole collection of sounds. I wasn't expecting how much I would end up liking this synth, especially the fun stuff you can do by starving the filter.

103 sounds - intro price 9.90 Euro. I put together a small video of different styles. My personal favourites was when I went Deep House or Cinematic with it, then the rough edges of the Polivoks really came out nicely.

I may be missing something but I am pretty sure my Atomika has a filteroscillik wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:52 pm Last Cherry Audio plugin I buy; I've just seen that they're double-dipping by releasing the filter as a separate plug-in.

plus you get a discount on the filter if you own the synth. i believe they had similar deals with galactic reverb (from dreamsynth) and stardust 201 (from mercury 4) in the past, if not on their website, then on reseller sites anyway. perhaps my chicken/egg order of operations is incorrect though.

The only CA product I use is Voltage Modular, so I'm happy to see it become available as a VM module. Your comment is somewhat questionable...oscillik wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:52 pm Last Cherry Audio plugin I buy; I've just seen that they're double-dipping by releasing the filter as a separate plug-in.

How is that "double-dipping"? If you have Atomika, you don't need the filter plugin, do you? They also sell all the components as separate modules for their modular platform. They've been doing that forever and I think you are the first person ever to see it as a negative.oscillik wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:52 pmLast Cherry Audio plugin I buy; I've just seen that they're double-dipping by releasing the filter as a separate plug-in.
All they are doing is selling a separate effect plugin that uses a similar filter design, just like dozens of other companies do all the time. e.g. GForce sell OB-E, SEM and OB-EZ, which are all based on the same DSP code. OTOH, if you want the effects from Baby Audio's BA-1 synth, you have to buy the whole thing. How is that a better option?

If you're in the Reason ecosystem, there's something similar on sale for $9 USD right now:

You can't use the filter in Atomika to filter another audio source. It only works for Atomika itself.BONES wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:11 pmHow is that "double-dipping"? Double-dipping would rather be if you would buy it as a physical release.oscillik wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:52 pm Last Cherry Audio plugin I buy; I've just seen that they're double-dipping by releasing the filter as a separate plug-in.

I might buy this just to hear how it would sound like on a drum track.

When I saw the email and the picture I thought it was a holiday gift, similar to Arturia with the MS-20.
Then I saw it wasn't free and thought the purchase included the modular version, similar to Softube with their stuff.
Then I realized it's all sold individually :L
About Atomika... I'm seriously loving the plugin, even more than I expected.
Congrats to Cherry, especially when they team up with MRB.
