Eclipse delivers unique saturation of five analog push-pull circuits to your DAW. Each circuit derives its unique sonic character from a different active element:
- 6L6 beam tetrode – Power tube commonly found in US audio power amplifiers in class AB push-pull configuration.
- EL84 pentode – Power tube found in many European audio equipment, gainer than the usualpentode, operated in push-pull class AB configuration for maximum power output.
- pair of complementary N- and P- MOS transistors found in CD4007
- 2N5457 and BF244B JFET transistors in mu-amplifier/SRPP/totem pole amplifier configuration found in some boutique guitar gear, including Shattered Glass Audio.
To achieve the most authentic analog sound, each circuit is simulated in real time using Shattered Glass Audio’s state-of-the-art circuit simulator.

Eclipse can be used to deliver anything from subtle saturation to ripping distortion, as well as in a tandem with a preamp simulation plug-in, such as our own Phoenix 2, and a speaker cabinet emulation plug-in to create a full amp.

Features:
- Authentic analog sound through real-time high-performance circuit simulation.
- Two vacuum tube push-pull configurations (fronted by long-tailed phase splitter using 12AX7
triodes) featuring 6L6 and EL84 power tubes.
- A complementary N- and P- MOS transistors in push-pull configuration.
- Two mu-amplifiers featuring JFET transistors 2N5457 and BF244B.
- Variable bias and feedback for each circuit for different saturation “flavors”.
- AGC and parallel processing.
- Automatic 4x oversampling.

This was an insta buy from me as I said on GS.

Whats the CPU usage like, the previous plugs used destroy my ancient box ?!

Post

Which plugins destroyed your ancient box? Certainly not Phoenix or Phoenix 2.
In the demo there’re five instances of Eclipse running with 64 samples buffer and all other plugins and there’s still ton of CPU left.
Why not downloading the demo and trying it for yourself?

Is this kind of a power amp stage? I still use 1566mkII a lot and phoenix2 a bit, but they're both preamp stages and this completes the chain by the sound of it?
Great plugins by the way!

Thank you!
Tubes (6L6 and EL84) are the power stage. IMHO, Phoenix 2 and Eclipse, with maybe an EQ in between them, and a cabinet emulation or an IR loader with your favorite speaker IR(s) after Eclipse would make a great amp.
Download the demo version and give it a whirl, see how you like it.

I assume this acts and can be used as a power amp between a (pre)amp sim and cabinet? Neat that there’s an EL84 model, which really hasn’t been done before in independent isolation that i know of.

You’re correct that Eclipse can be used as a power amp. Tube (6L6 and EL84) circuits are the push-pull tube power sections fronted by a long-tailed pair phase splitter.
