Kick 2 KICK 3

Seems like the gui sucks for browsing "click" samples to try to find one similar to the analyzed kick. Though calling them "clicks" is a bit misleading, since the analyzer seems to basically be including all the parts that can't be easily reduced to synthesis, including most of the body of the kick.

With that in mind, it sucks that the click browser window covers up most of the waveform view and can't be moved.

It would be better if there were an option to see a miniature version of each click sample's waveform next to it in the browser list.

Though I guess this is one major reason why people beta test... to see their desires implemented (hopefully) sooner.

I tried using Kick 3's analyzer in combination with XO to replace the "click" of an analyzed kick from a song I don't own the rights to with a similar royalty free sample. Unfortunately XO's AI is not very good at matching similar samples---at least in this case---and their gui is also a PItA. Huge hassle for crappy matches. Still got some interesting and (also tweaking the sub substantially) original results loosely inspired by the copyrighted material. And the analysis is at least educational.

Perhaps it's for the best that Kick 3's analyzer doesn't provide a quick and easy way to get kicks similar to songs you like... unless they're simple purely synthesized kicks or certain subgenres I have minimal interest in I guess.

This is a cautionary tale for anyone thinking that customer loyalty matters in Sonic Academy's customer service—you'll be sadly disappointed.

I recently purchased the KICK 3 upgrade just four days before they lowered the price for Black Friday. I contacted them to ask if they could refund the difference, but they told me there’s nothing they can do.

Seriously, there’s NOTHING you can do?

Sonic Academy can easily review my purchase history and see all the transactions I’ve made, along with their dates.

You’d think that as a software company, trying to retain your customers would be essential to your business—especially with the growing competition in this niche market. These new competitors offer better workflows, more competitive pricing, actively listen to customer feedback, and are engaged in forums.

Looking back, I realize I should have chosen one of their competitors instead of continuing to do business with a company that doesn’t even value me enough to check my purchase history.

Anyway, KickNinja or Kickdrum by Audija are great alternatives to KICK 3.

Deeply value our loyal customers is not reducing price that much only some weeks after release, sorry. 8)

I don't care about the money, it's just not nice, and I will take that into account in the future whether I will still buy products from SA if there are alternatives. You have every right to do that, but the reaction will be that I'll buy products from competitors if possible.

No harsh feelings from my side, but that's the reaction you create and it's damaging your reputation.

For those who like to sculpt their kick drums within a vst interface then SA Kick3 is a dream come true, the interface, functionality and possibilities. Superb Kick Drum creator.

Can't answer for Aloysius .

But in my case it's a removed post. I said all I wanted to say and did not like to repeat myself just to vent.

My Kick 3 upgrade was also dirt cheap, so I added some additional packs, then saw that ANA 2 was too cheap to pass up, not to mention the free compressor...

So much for being done with BF sales, I suppose :help:

According to support, they will only compensate for purchases from Nov 10th onwards and only with preset packs or an SA-76 license. If you bought it at launch, nothing doing.
Until forever fades away.
