Yes, I would love to see how the new Nexus5 worksknwr wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 11:57 am It's cool that they're opening up the editing experience. I wonder how close the synth editor they're exposing is to the one they had their sound designers using over time. I'm curious to see what the internal editing experience is like. It would be pretty interesting if their sound design team actually did a couple tutorials or a video walking through their workflow.
reFX NEXUS5 is out now!

Manuel (I think) said the internal editor was very clunky, a Windows 95 type experience. I guess refx always knew this was a ton of work to make it accessible, and it's taken this long to do it. 4.5 was a halfway step.knwr wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 11:57 am I wonder how close the synth editor they're exposing is to the one they had their sound designers using over time.

Hi Manuel@reFX,
Are there going to be any new samples from your beloved Oberheim Matrix 12 in the new reFX Nexus 5 ? I was curious if you guys ever plan on doing a dedicated library for your Matrix 12 for either Nexus, or Avenger like you did with your vintage string library for avenger.
Thanks!

Very excited to see this update come out! Will there be a global bypass FX button? Just asking.
Also, for some reasons, I didn't like the knob UI on Nexus4. Looks like it has been improved a bit on Nexus5?

Any word if reFx is going to have Black Friday deals for soundbanks yet ? I seem to remember them being pretty gracious and their sales run till Xmas or so.

This looks very interesting!! I appreciate the evolution of this plugin.
I have a question for refx though.
Would you be ever consider to switch to a more customer friendly DRM? Something that doesn't needs to call home and can be managed by an offline computer?
I love to download everything and being able to use it without any further authorization. I know piracy is a thing, but lately that kind of DRM has stopped me to invest more money on these ecosystems, but didn't stopped piracy (with a simple search you can find the illegal version).
Although i like to support companies and i don't like piracy. 100% of my software is legal, i also spent grands just with Nexus and expansions over the years.
I really appreciate how companies like U-he, Fabfilter and others managed to have an healthy business with a friendly drm.
If i were able to do the same with Nexus, so downloading both plugins and expansions and use them without any interaction with your servers, i'd probably buy almost everything you release, because i like what you do.
Never had a problem with Nexus so far (so congrats to the dev!) and your sound designer is just amazing!
Really hard to pass whatever you do if drm isn't a concern, but would be lovely to feel the same for other people who care about that like me.
I don't want to start a "discussion" on this topic, just kindly asking something and showing my interest in that kind of feature that for me became crucial.
I'll be fine whatever your answer is. Thanks.

They almost always have a holiday sale that goes on for a while. I forget how steep the discounts are, but they're usually pretty good.trusampler wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 5:10 am Any word if reFx is going to have Black Friday deals for soundbanks yet ? This is the largest Nexus update by far.
The expansions are currently £57 each here in the UK, typically between 120-150 presets. I'm not sure what the UK equivalent of a $79 upgrade will be (from N4), but it's not going to be more than £79.
N5 will have nearly 10x expansions-worth in it. If there was nothing else, that would be a Black Friday steal on its own. But hey look ma - now it's a synth.

(As you posted on the discussion forum I will give my opinion too: online auth (but not needing to subsequently be online) is fine for me. But that’s just me, of course.
The EULA says you must reconnect every 30 days but the company has replied to me that this is not the case, so I’ll take them at their word.)

Yes, we removed the 30 day requirement. You just need to be online when installing and then it never calls home again. We should probably update the eula. We currently don't have any plans to change the licensing system.revvy wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 8:35 am ays you must reconnect every 30 days but the company has replied to me that this is not the case, so I’ll take them at their word.)
