Arturia - FX Collection 5 with 34 effects

You can't compare the two. Arturia FX is on an entire another level. Actually they're not even on the same book, let alone the same page.

An alternative for what purposes? The SoundToys bundle is more about creative and character effects. There aren't a bunch of EQs and Limiters. So maybe Eventide Anthology is the closest? It goes on sale at a deep discount during the holiday season (if not already, I haven't looked). But there's no "Rack". Is that important to you?

But the Arturia FX Collection has a little bit of everything. So if that's what you're looking for, then that's an alternative. But there's also no "Rack".

Then you've got the UA Signature Bundle which focuses more on compressors, EQs, channel strips, etc. But there are some reverbs, delays, and saturation plugins built in. It's a great bundle for bread and butter. But there's no Rack.

Yes, I wasn't being too clear - your answer was spot-on - for the $50 difference Arturia offers more than 5 times the value imo.

Nomad Integral Studio Pack III is a good pack on sale for $64.66 right now. some nice useful plugins. but it's personal taste and what you are after.

I have soundtoys bundle, only use 2-3 of the plugins.
I have eventide anthology, only use 3-4 of the plugins
I have Nomad Integral use only 1-2 plugins
bunch of other bundles - rarely use

after amassing a bunch of the bundles and what everyone calls the must haves - it really boils down to what do you need for your music and you taste. if your working with others what do they have so you have what they have when collaborating to make production easier.

Fabfilter EQ, Valhalla vintage verbs, few other plugins and ya have pretty much what is needed. it sometimes gets overkill having so much stuff at your fingertips and learning each plugin it's character and nuances that sometimes less is more. just depends.

Rack? Why would anyone need a rack when one can have a rack in every daw, and if they want another one with more options they can have BlueCat's Patchwork?

Haha, rack..

As for arturia's "little bit of everything", I would say is the other way around - soundtoys offers some little bit of some things, while Arturia is a complete suite of effects that you can do almost everything you need in a modern production. Way more creative and with way more character than what soundtoys can deliver.

100% true.

That's true! I was sold all my Arturia stuff. I got Diva, Repro and Cubase Retrologue and Halion 7 for the retro sound. Regarding fxs. I was purchased Soundtoys bundle. And for me they are really musical. Sounds warm and great. And now I got Fabfilter bundle and Cubase stock Fxs + Valhalla and Wavesfactory. that's all what I need.

Because some people want preset FX chains and don't want to create them themselves. That's the obvious reason why it might appeal to some. So...so...obvious! To everyone! Except for you! Hahaha

See? I can act like I'm better than people and be snarky too!

You may think it's not necessary, and I've never used the Rack myself, but that's a reason why it matter to someone who isn't you.

Sorry if I sounded like I'm better than someone/anyone. I was talking about what the software offers, as a package.

And with all due respect, if someone needs rack presets they better spend that money on chatgpt or another educational resource so they can know their way around their stock plugins and make more informed decisions next time. If you download FL Studio and load the projects that come with it, you will find some high quality sounding, professionally mixed tunes using only the stock plugins. And except reaper that comes naked (with only some utility plugins), you can achieve the same high quality sound using only the stock plugins in any modern daw - Logic, Live, FL Studio, Bitwig, Cubase, Studio1, and even Reason. Actually a lot of famous albums in history were made using quite simple tools and techniques. No "magic" plugin or rack will fix your lack of knowledge. None.

The Souondtoys rack presets are some pretty useful presets nice chains of fx makes it less tedious, hit a preset play around with an idea and then tweak as desired. nice starters sometimes. also nice when learning to see how they have setup interesting chains , often something I had even thought to doing or trying. I only use the rack when stuck sometimes, some of the presets are pretty wild and not as useful but still fun sometimes.

A Rack is useful when you achieve the sound you want using some effects.
You can save a rack preset (it will save all configurations and knob positions of all the individual plugins inside the rack) and import that into other projects.
Now, imagine doing that without the rack. You would have to save a preset per individual plugin.
Seems time consuming to me....

Maybe you should check your daw, I can do that easily in Reaper and also I know it can be done in FL studio and Cubase. I can save plugin chains using ANY plugin, and even parallel chains on the same track.

Maybe the rack was relevant 20 years ago when it was launched, but surely not today, at least not as a technical feature. As soundware, maybe, but then again, if you master your tools and know what you want, you don't really need them.

Melda MXXX is $468 now unless you have other registered Melda plugins.

I think you'll get a small loyalty discount if you do. The Sound Toys bundle is about $200 now but you'll save more than $268 in the long run with free updates and a 95% reduction in GAS (clinically proven in many peer reviewed studies). Don't worry if you hate the interface/GUI at first. You'll get used to it and maybe learn to like it.
