What if collecting plugins is the hobby?jocknaethick wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 5:29 am TBH, nothing is really getting me reaching for the credit card. Thinking about it, if I can't get the job done with the insane number of quality tools that I (and I suspect pretty much everybody here) already have, chances are I never will and I should probably looking for a new hobby.

.....aaaaaaand PluginGuru Unify. But it was not on sale I think, I just wanted it (have wanted something like it for a while).stoopicus wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:26 pm.....aaaaaaaaand I spoke too soon of course. I was lured in by the siren songs of the Dawesome sisters, Myth and Zyklop.stoopicus wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2024 8:52 pm Wow. I can't believe I am getting through this year with just Stepic and a few Falcon expansions/instruments. Probably under $150 total.
Then again I did pick up Falcon in the Halloween sale so I should count that too really.
What a cool idea.

After I posted that comment I actually thought exactly the same thing...Once upon a time I did find myself more interested in collecting guitars than actually playing them...that expanded over time and the more gear I had, the more I wanted and I found myself spending wayyyy more time on ebay looking for gear than I was playing...thankfully, I got over it, in no small part as I realised how much "gear" I actually had at my disposal through my DAW and a few other software packages.

Tonex cured most of my guitar-related GAS. I've been selling off all my amps and don't miss any of them.jocknaethick wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:26 am Once upon a time I did find myself more interested in collecting guitars than actually playing them...that expanded over time and the more gear I had, the more I wanted and I found myself spending wayyyy more time on ebay looking for gear than I was playing...thankfully, I got over it, in no small part as I realised how much "gear" I actually had at my disposal through my DAW and a few other software packages.

I have Amplitube, Scuffham and an older version of Guitar Rig...How much more does Tonex bring to the table than those aforementioned packages?Uncle E wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:45 am Tonex cured most of my guitar-related GAS. I've been selling off all my amps and don't miss any of them.

And to add to this question - to what extent do you guys use Guitar Rig / Amplitube / Tonex etc - for synths and not just guitars?jocknaethick wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 8:37 amI have Amplitube, Scuffham and an older version of Guitar Rig...How much more does Tonex bring to the table than those aforementioned packages?Uncle E wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:45 am Tonex cured most of my guitar-related GAS. Personally, I don't use amp modelling on synths at all...my preference is for clean tones from synths.zahush76 wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:10 am

Actually had time to spend on music making this weekend, really enjoying my Nomad factory effects (from last year)
Might go for a TDR plug-in or two or just stick and fold
