When I try to download a new key file in V man I get the same thing.I can’t use it anymore and a starting to regret buying it again.I guess it doesn’t really matter since I could barely use it anyway considering the Massive amount of memory it consumes.

Then go into "Account Details" and put a mark into all the boxes and deactivate. If it's not working contact support.

Thank you. I figured it out after posting this initially, I also emailed them and they reset my activations.

@msvs, pls, remove the gains from the initialize patch for drums. When dragging in a custom kit, my levels were already set b4 dragging in. now when they go into an initialized drum channel, all sounds are out of balance, as is.
Thank you !!

Ah this is interesting, the 2.3 changelog implies that the VST3 version actually is just a VST2 wrapper... Is that correct? So logically, the VST2 version always will be more stable and less problematic than the VST3 version? Or said differently, there is no benefit at all using the VST3 version?

I just bought Avenger for black friday. Wow. Unusable currently. The cpu spikes in a single empty Ableton Live project are insane. I'm on an M1 Max chip. Performance is amazing across the board. But Avenger is spike to near 100% constantly, even just siting there doing nothing. It's audibly glitching as well when trying to play it.

Are there are tweaks that can help this? People can't possibly be using this as is. I would have to ask for my money back if this isn't solvable.

No. Unfortunately this seems to be the way it is,at least on the M1.They don’t seem interested in fixing it or can’t fix it or can’t reproduce it . The Memory usage is also crazy. On my 8 gig M1 Air I couldn’t really use even one instance without the memory pressure going into the yellow, while I could use 40 plus instances of Current without memory swap happening, it does say 16 gigs RAM minimum on the box though .It does work better on my new 16 gig M3 Air and I’m also seeing very little spiking

So is it not Apple Silicone compatible then? I just assumed it was.

Ahh, you read all the posts complaining about this very thing in this very thread, but figured you'd roll the dice anyway huh? Living on the edge, I like it haha! If it helps, what I tend to do with avenger is immediately bounce anything I write with it to audio. Its a complete pain in the arse, but at least you can actually get some use out of it that way.

Hopefully one day they'll take the mac issues serious enough to hire a mac savvy developer to take a deep dive into the issues. The problem is, the guys over there don't use macs (or at least they never used to), so we're kind of the second cousins twice removed that don't get invited over to parties.

Yes it is Silicone compatible,it just seems to have issues, which are significantly improved for me with my new computer which has an M3 processor so maybe the problem is related to the M1 specifically or maybe it’s just that the single core performance of the M3 is higher than the M1. Maybe the spikes are worse in Live vs Bitwig. This is all purely speculation as I have no idea what causes the spikes or how Avenger uses multi core processors,if it even does.

On my M3 Macbook Pro Avenger works absolutely fine, even at very low buffer sizes. Several people in this thread have reported problems with the M1 chip though.

OK I'll chime in since I haven't visited this thread since early July when I tried to update from 2.0.5 to 2.2.0 on an M1 Max 64gb, and it was a disaster. 2.0.5 was very stable with no spikes or crackles, so I went back to that. Fast forward to today where I bought a few expansions on the 50% off BF sale - one of which requires 2.2.0 to run (Melodic Techno 4). I rolled the dice and installed the latest 2.3.1 version of Avenger and it is stable thankfully.

Lucky! I too am M1 Max 64gb ram. 2.3.1 fresh install. Tested both VST3 and AU. Tried Ableton Live 12 and Logic. Both disasters. Not cpu performance issues. The average cpu is low. Just a lot of spikes causing bursts and crackles as cpu meter spikes to 100% often. Not impressive.
