That definitely sounds great! Did you get the kit?

Ordered a Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio in black Friday sale.
Yes, it does. Yes, I did. :D

The Desmodus Versio is quite interesting, and their swap-able DSP platform definitely adds to its value (IMHO).

Got my Linnstrument today. It just works, no drivers needed for settings (which is great). I took some time to play with the settings, and really like 4ths tuning and setting the lights only on C, F, G (not directing me toward either major or minor, but outlining enough notes to easily navigate whatever scale).

I do think the Roli feels more satsifying for certain kinds of slow, pressure-based playing and very small slides -- but the Linnstrument isn't lacking in precision and I already feel like anything I could do on the Roli, I can probably do on the Linnstrument (and definitely with a bit more practice).

It does make me a little more disappointed in non-MPE software synths. I got excited for the Sumu 1.0 release and then was like... WTF, I can't actually use pressure? But playing those kinds of instruments with it is another subset of skills to relearn I think.

The slight delay on the Behringer synths shipment arriving at Andertons gave me time to cancel my Syncussion order and put that money towards one of the MIJ Fender Aerodyne telecasters they have on offer for £799 for Black Friday.

Still keeping the Spice order in though, looking forward to that.

Are you safe?

bugbrand chirper on its way.

not that ill get to use it too soon, still got my studio packed up in boxes, across two locations :o nothing expensive at the empty place, just stands and odd bits, but still would prefer it all here :x
bloody family helping you move, then leaving you before it's actually done :x
as well as various other arguments "no the synths cant just go in the f**king shed, not even just while we get sorted :x "

wouldn't mind, if it was my mum who was moaning about the stuff, but it's my auntie, who doesn't even f**king live here :tantrum:

Just received an LG 34” wide/curved monitor. The eventual plan is to buy a Mac Mini, but more immediately I’ll use it with the laptop to see how far I can get without buying a Mini.

Chase Bliss got me for one more end-of-year purchase. They put out a mystery box with guaranteed CBA pedal plus extras, such as maybe an extra pedal plus a chance to net a Willy Wonka-like golden pin possibility to get their current/future pedals.

That one should be fun.

I've been battling the idea of a row of red BugBrand but I'd also like another row of blue too (DDSR, Seqeunce, etc). I'll have to move the Bugbrand stuff into it's own rack at that point but that's likely to happen anyway, since I'm planning to expand my Serge modular a bit next year.

Hey all, a PSU question for you.

I bought a used Elektron Digitone (first version), and it arrived a day or so ago. However, the included adapter can't even be plugged into the unit. I contacted the store and they are sending an alternative: https://livewire-usa.com/uxs/ . Somehow I'm still doubtful I'll be getting a suitable adapter, and I don't want to damage the unit.

With that said the, what type of PSU do I actually need? On the Digitone unit itself, the port is clearly marked 12VDC 1A. However, the Elektron website clearly states 12VDC 2A https://elektron.se/support-downloads/d ... #resources under tab Elektron power supplies (PSU). The relevant section reads as follows:
ANALOG RYTM MKI/MKII, ANALOG FOUR MKI/MKII, OCTATRACK MKII, ANALOG DRIVE, ANALOG HEAT MKI/MKII, DIGITAKT, DIGITONE, DIGITONE KEYS, SYNTAKT

Current Elektron power supply: PSU-3c. These devices were originally shipped with PSU-3, PSU-3b, or PSU-3c. All these devices work with PSU-3 and PSU-3b (With the exception of Analog Drive which doesn’t work with PSU-3). The PSU-3c power supply handles voltages of 100-240 VAC, 50/60Hz.

The power supply you want to use must meet the following specifications:

Voltage: 12 VDC
Minimum Current Rating: 2 A
Barrel Connector Size: 5.5 mm outer diameter, 2.5 mm inner diameter
Polarity: Positive center
So, if the adapter the store is sending me isn't suitable, what should I be looking for?

Post

Use 2A or higher. There's no harm in going too high but if you're too low, the PSU itself might die. You mainly need to be worried about 12V and whether the tip is positive or negative.

Thanks, I'll take a look into other PSUs then.

Picked up a Behringer MS1 mkii because I missed my old SH101 and a MIM Fender Tele just because....Nothing else on the radar because I find I finally have overcome GAS.

:uhuhuh: . We'll correct that to "HAD finally overcome gas". One sip and you're off the wagon, as they say :hihi:
