Just a quick question
Since sway will also be able to be used as an editor , wouldn't it make to also make a standalone version ?

FWIW there is a guy on Reverb and eBay from the Isle of Mann who sells replacement screens for the TG77 that are truly plug and play. You literally just remove some screws to take the SY77 apart without unplugging or soldering anything except for the old screen which just unplugs and the new one plugs infmr wrote: Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:14 pm I have a TG77 which is now kind of ending its life (display is dimming)
They come with a small pre built circuit board attached any everything is plug and play
Takes about 30-45 if you take it slow and take your time, could probably be done in 10-15 minutes if you are in a hurry
Super simple and easy even if you have never touched electronics before

Thanks for all the offers to help with testing. At this point I have compiled a pretty big list of people interested in testing. To keep it manageable I can't recruit everyone though, I hope you understand.
I'm using iPlug2.
It would make sense, but it's also a more work. I'm going to release with the features I currently have implemented, and then release updates with features that are in high demand. If a standalone version is something people really want I can think about it.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:31 pm Just a quick question

Good to know, iPlug2 is pretty stable & has better MIDI implementations especially with VST3 (at least user to implement than in Juce).

Thanks. Good to know. Do you have his contacts, by any chance? Can you send then to me privately?IvyBirds wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 12:20 amFWIW there is a guy on Reverb and eBay from the Isle of Mann who sells replacement screens for the TG77 that are truly plug and play. Not, if there will only be a VST3 version (which will most likely be the case).EvilDragon wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 9:34 amSAVIhost to the rescue!gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2024 11:31 pm Just a quick question

for archive and for fun ( and maybe not only
) i was the very first in the world to request about a VSTi of the SY/TG77, on april 2007, and for years and years, this french "Audiofanzine" forum post was the only Google proposal for "SY77 + VST"
( French reactions in 2007 was all negative, and from users which wasn't aware about VSTi... but time passed, and we have the experience of launching in CUBASE the firsts VST from 1999, still working ( with JBridge because they are 32bit ) and stable. )

Perhaps you got dates mixed up ?

i noticed others minds very... very late, and this was maybe more and more. i guess in 2027 they will discuss about D.A.W. vs Hardware 16 step sequencers
and they truely discuss about back to vynil : this is a "tendence" in France... maybe K7 in 2030 because they was more easy to use than files on computer...
Even today ( 2023, 2024 ), discussions with friends on Facebook , they only trust on hardware and uses VST only as anecdotal, and even don't think about saving parameters... they don't like managing with softwares and screens.
No very fluid integration in mind of what computer technology is real changing.
But... paradoxically, much friends uses and do trust only "Cloud" for saving their photos and datas, and do not like anymore CD or DVD. ( i use MDisc blueray for my archives
Well, this is off topic : SORRY.

Just sounds like the home country of established software developers like Uvi or Arturia….cslevine wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:29 pmThis is ...France !I think most users were aware what a vst was in 2007

Yes, I find it strange. I faced very much the same attitude back in the 90s, when I started advocating computers in music professionally. But nowadays, no professional I know will live without computers (although many still use hardware processors, but IMO that is mainly a marketing manoeuver to look more "professional" to their customers, since in private they recognize they could very well do anything ITB.abi wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:38 pmJust sounds like the home country of established software developers like Uvi or Arturia….cslevine wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 5:29 pmThis is ...France !I think most users were aware what a vst was in 2007

I bet in France the scenario is pretty much the same.
