Hi everyone,
It looks like I might be able to post again this month.
This is my first test with Dawesome Myth and Cubase 14.

Myth is really a great synth, maybe the best for making ambient and experimental music.

Nice submission @Marok99.
Remember to vote via the voting page. Access to this will be on a new first page of this thread after the submissions close. You will have to register as per usual with such things - a simple process. The votes will be tallied and the winners (and all other placings) announced on or around the 16th of December.
You have to give a rating 1-5 for ALL tracks, else your entry will be disqualified - the only draconian sanction here, but not unreasonable IMO
The next challenge, and the synth to use, will be announced on 1st December, along with any rules modifications for that round. Submissions for that round end on 31st December as per usual!
Good luck, and hope to see/hear you again next time.

Hey Everyone,
so here is my submission.
https://soundcloud.com/impedancemusic/m ... convention
Every sound is made from a few audio samples of a self recorded video from a convention. Which convention? What a great question! I will now proceed to gladly answer this questi-Oh hey look a squirrel
Technical Details:
DAW: FL Studio 24
Instances of Myth: 25
BPM: 137
Effects:
Channel EQ [1]
Fruity Balance [1]
Fruity Delay 2 [3]
Fruity Limiter [3]
Fruity Parametric EQ2 [9]
Fruityx Reeverb 2 [3]
Fruity Stereo Enhancer [3]
Fruity Transient Processor [1]
Maximus/Soundgoodizer [10]
Melda MAutoPan [1]
Analyzing:
FL Tuner [2]
Wave Candy [2]
Youlean Loudness Meter 2 [1]
As a little goodie: Here is the 'Demo' Version of the track - I make a demo like this with other instruments to get an idea if a track works and than swap the instruments to the current OSC one. Most of the time it will sound completely different in the end.
Maybe some of you find that interesting to hear

Hope you'll enjoy!

No tracks needed freezing - mostly because my workflow is chaotic and more often than not i return and change things. I have a TR-1920x, it was around 43% load with a peak of around 80-100% for a brief moment with audio cracks (@ around 2:51 there most tracks are playing simultaniously). Everything else was actually fine, eventhough above ~20 Instances the Projectfile got a bit laggy and i mentioned Youlean Loudness Meter in the effects, but it didn't work due to lag, so no idea what my lufs are XD (FL tuner did the same and i had to use Wave Candy instead, which surprisingly worked just fine)Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:32 pm How did your CPU do with 25 instances going? Did you have to freeze them up?
And i also have to mention that Myth is installed on a HDD not a SSD. It could have played a role in the performance.

Hi all, here is my submission. Brutal feedback please!
https://soundcloud.com/treeheated/ozymandias
What a delightful synth! Sometimes the various synths just feel like different subsets of Surge. Myth certainly doesn't! And it was cool to have nonstandard rules, although I felt a bit paralyzed for choice early on.
I spent a lot of time on this track, and it was a lot of fun. One of the challenges: there are so many fun ways to mess with the sound and make something interesting, I had to remind myself that the music needs some simple sounds too or it'll end up all messy. CPU usage did start to creep up. Eventually I decided to slow down on making new instruments and instead use automation to change the sounds of the instruments over time. I have way more automation than usual. By the end, Reaper's GUI was slowing down. But the sound kept going, and I never had to freeze anything.
Audio samples I used:
- various free percussion sounds from MusicRadar. I pretty heavily modified them in Myth
- vocals produced with text-to-speech software (SpeechT5). These are spoken, and I used Myth to get the pitch and timing (and change the sound a bit).
- one recording of me going "mmm" which I turned into a little decorative bass sound. Could have used anything really.
Also quite a lot of my sounds are made with the in-built oscillators. I tried some other things like doing some vocals myself, which didn't turn out well. I'm quite sure that it's my laptop mic's fault and nothing to do with my voice.
DAW: Reaper
Plugins (not counting monitoring plugins)
- Myth x20
- JS: Stereo Width x1
- OrilRiver x1
- TDR Nova x1
- ReaComp x3
- ReaDelay x3
- ReaEQ x3
- ReaLimit x2
