this is interesting to hear.
Is it really faster than a Quantum2626 on a mac ? or otherwise similarly good, since it´s a USB interface ?
On macs, the Q26226 is a real bargain when smallest latenzys do play a role, and budget too.

I honestly cannot tell as I never owned an RME (my son has an old first gen Babyface and he loves it, on his old Windows PC). I really like the low RTL of the 2626 though, sad that Presonus discontinued their TB lineup!

The Quantum first gen TB2 I have is a recent acquisition… to eventually use with my MBP 2015 or even plugged in my MacMini 2018 (with an Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter). I guess it would even work with my MBP early 2011 as 10 gbps (Thunderbolt 1 specs) is plenty for audio bandwidth!

one example was Microsoft forced the migration of a portion of Windows 7/8 users, to Windows 10, back in 2015. I had personal experience of this. There was no “accident”. No “oh, I opted in and didn’t know”. They just forced a bunch of installs on people - and in enough numbers that news articles were written about it at the time.

A decade ago. And honestly, what kind of complete f**king idiot would keep using Windows 7 when they could be using Windows 10, which used one-third less system resources and wasn't just a cosmetic makeover of the worst version of Windows they had ever rolled out (Vista)? Microsoft was doing you a HUGE favour.

Yeah, their new Quantum line is USB-C physically but some customized implementation of TheSycon drivers I think. Not on par with their TB AI’s… at least in the round trip latency.
