I still use the old Dr. Device from Audio Damage. Some crazy delays there. I also use it just for the filter. Turn off the delay and filter something with automation. Nice.

It's just quite modern and versatile. It doesn't have any BBD or Tape models, but it gives you the tools to build them yourself - and then turn them into something else entirely...Seelachsfilet wrote: Wed Oct 23, 2024 10:09 am Recirculate is getting mentioned a lot. Is it that good and why ?
this is a plugin where it's really rewarding to RTFM - and once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to use.

I have no fav delays but if need something special always keep in mind things from Unfiltered Audio (love his early works), or recent Dedalus, or UVI Relayer.
Additionally, Studio One contain very good stock set of 3 different delays.
UPD in theory i think delays from Lexicon PCM FX bundle could be favorite (very lked his structure \ UI aestetically) but they is partially broken unfortunately (+ usb ilok depend), and seems already no hope to changes\fix anymore.

I still use H-Delay often myself. Useful for digital analogue and tape sounds. Most people don't realise it but in H-Delay and H-Comp the Analog control selects the circuit/emulation type.
iZotope just dropped their delay called Cascadia a few days ago.

Interesting new delay plugin:

OLDTIMER perfectly captures the unique characteristics of 60s bucket brigade delay (BBD) and 70s digital systems in one dual-topology delay. Seamlessly blend these decade-defining delays to create characterful vintage echoes with entrancing rhythmic and spatial effects.

The ones I go for the most are Cluster Delay, Color Copy, Imperial Delay, Valhalla Delay, and Echoboy.
I would love to use Recirculate more but it's hard to justify using a delay eats up like 15% cpu unless I know I'm just gonna freeze it right away
