I thought I had very few VST2s left, but installing C14 brought more than I remembered to my attention. Mostly I would miss none of them, but it pointed out Ohmboyz delay which I still love (mostly for 1 or 2 niche delay styles) so it made me turn on VST2 in Cubase. I might delete the others though...

I didn't upgrade to C14 yet. I mostly run Nuendo 13. N14 won't be out for a month or so.
Question: Did C14 drop support for all VST2.4 plugins? I know they kept saying that was going to happen but it hadn't yet.

The application didn't, but Steinberg themselves did. You wont get any help with issues if you're using VST2 plugs anymore at this point. It's optional and now has to be enabled to use them, but it's YMMV when it comes to support now.

Yeah. What he said. They work if you activate VST2 in Cubase, for now. I suspect at some point they'll probably stop even recognizing VST2 at all. If you do have any VST2 plugins that Cubase has a spaz with, don't complain to Steinberg cos they're not interested now - it will be entirely up to the plugin company to sort it out.

I'm pretty sure this is the Steinberg motto.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

I think, I read somewhere, that with the next version of Cubase/Nuendo (15) VST2 shall get completely dismissed.
