Not exact Roland space echo copy (has IRs for different springs, pre amps and modulation) but Surreal Machines have a rediculously good tape echo/spring reverb/analog modulation plugin called Modenic, I’m very tight when it comes to buying plugins but I met one of the founders and he gave me a free copy, now it’s a permanent send in my DAW

Anyone familiar with TD-201 by Black Rooster Audio? It's on sale for €19.00 atm
FL Studio 25 | AudioThing JULY - Deimos - U-he Filterscape - NI Kontour - Softube Model 80 - LUSH-2 - UAD Opal - WaveOSC

Thx for the reminder to install it on my designated DAW computer.

I use TD-201, it's good for me. No experience from the real hardware though. I also have UAD Galaxy Tape Echo, but prefer Black Rooster over that.

It's not the best RE-201 emulation imo, but it's a good tape delay plugin nonetheless. And at this price hard to beat.

I kinda wish BRA had done it like Softube with their Tape Echoes; obviously inspired by the RE-201, but without the looks and references, thus not having to be as true to the original as possible.

Try the demo!

Black Rooster are irrelevant weak ass sauce. They don't even know how to code VST3. They're like Cherry Audio without the skillz.

And there's another one...

Slate Digital Stellar Echo SD-201.

Based upon several videos I think this is one of the best ones yet, but there is only one of its features that I'd like to be added to Outer Space and that's the reverb routing. And if you don't already have a Slate Digital subscription, then it will be very pricey to use SD-201 for a longer period either as subscription or perpetual license.

IK Space Delay
Roland Cloud RE-202
Gsi GS-201 mkII
UADx Galaxy Tape Echo (UAD-1 RE-201)
Audio Thing Outer Space 2

Guessing these are the most serious competition
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

My new favourite is Audiority Space Age 555.

The Slate Digital sounds pretty sweet, but maybe not $199 sweet.

It's a fun tape delay plugin. I do wonder though why its tape and its reverb sounds quite different than most Space Echo plugins.

I have no way to confirm how accurate it is or is not. But it’s raucous and I like it.

That's what I like about cherry audio, they don't make emulations, but create something new that's just similar to the original.
Hardware serves as inspiration only.
