MUST (Modular Unified Synthesis Technology) is a hybrid synthesis technology that integrates the precision of analog circuit behavior modeling with Acustica Audio’s signature convolution-based approach. It incorporates advanced features such as nonlinear convolution, dynamic Volterra series, and time-varying models to reproduce analog hardware's complexities and nuances faithfully.

I have 3 other JP-8 plugins that all sound pretty good to me and I think they weigh in at less than this one alone combined.Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:26 pmMy thoughts exactly! The lineup consisted simply of six hydrocoptic marzelvanes, so fitted to the ambifacient lunar waneshaft that sidefumbling was effectively prevented. The main winding was of the normal lotus o-deltoid type placed in panendermic semiboloid slots of the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the ‘up’ end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescence score motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with a drawn reciprocation dingle arm to reduce sinusoidal deplenerationDashOfLime wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:23 pmNo but it certainly was a great session of buzzword bingoTeksonik wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:08 pm You didn't answer the question. From my meddling last night, my initial impressions are that this is the best sounding analog emulation on the softsynth market. It sounds crazy. Need more time testing it.
This question doesn't even make sense. It specifically says in your quoted text that it's convolution-based. The question itself makes it seem as if you don't know what convolution is.Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:32 pmThe demo is a 760 megs so is some of the synth sample based or "convolution" based ?Acustica Community wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:12 pm with Acustica Audio’s signature convolution-based approach.

Throwing accusations and attacking someone, you and the people the liked your post are straight trash.briefcasemanx wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 11:20 am Someone that works with Acustica Audio just so happens to like Thing more than a hardware Jupiter 8. That's a pretty hilarious joke.
You should also probably know that free running oscillators are not even remotely new or interesting and are implemented by many, many, many, many softsynths. Also, why would a non-free running oscillator result in a weak transient response?

I didn't get any money, so no i don't work with Acustica Audio, i certainly collaborated with them for this synth just because i'm passionate and curious like a baby.briefcasemanx wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 11:20 amSomeone that works with Acustica Audio just so happens to like Thing more than a hardware Jupiter 8. The sound is real and it's far more versatile, the original doesn't even have velocity, very hard to work today without that tbh.0degree wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 9:56 pm Anybody had a chance to compare this with the real synth? How close is it?
For people who compared it with other vst's just take a closer look on how different the poly function is at each key stroke, with thing the voice difference sounds much more realistic to me, also when you play multiple notes, the "free running" sounds real because it's correctly implemented, while other synts just turn the osc off to spare cpu, but the result is a weak transient response.
If you also have a chance to compare it with the real one, just have fun comparing the cross mod with both hardware and other plugins, and you see the attention of details, and why this plugin is wild.

I value my free of speech more than money, so i can say whatever i think, as i've always done, and there are plenty of videos where i criticize their products i didn't liked it.
I'm certainly not the person who say every damn time "this is a game changer" i dislike very much that behaviour and that's the main reason i started content creation on youtube.
If/when i would ever get some money from companies, be assured it will clearly stated at the beginning of the video, and i would probably call myself out from any discussion on forums, because in that case it's fair to don't trust my words.
Anyway i strongly think everyone should spend time to try plugins they are interested in, and decide by themself, even after reading forums or watching contents on social medias.
I know we are full of smart things, but i still hope humans to be still smart enough to use their own brain to take decisions, otherwise that's the real joke.

Are the actual sounds (oscillators, patches, etc.) samples or are you referring to the samples used for convolution?

Yes, completely fair. Acustica's demo system is generous AND their plugins in particular require lots of testing.Frankie.T wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 9:18 pm Anyway i strongly think everyone should spend time to try plugins they are interested in, and decide by themself, even after reading forums or watching contents on social medias.

So if I'm interested to demo this, is it as simple as downloading an installer of the "Thing" demo, installing it, and demo-ing?
Or do I have to descend in the nightmare underworld crazy madness of Acustica's various platforms that I barely made it out of with my sanity intact* the last time I tried it...?
* Or maybe I didn't...

Dang, sad to hear that. I've taken my time to message you in the past to be helpful and bring technical issues about your site to your attention but I'll avoid your store going forward. There's enough toxicity on the internet (especially KVR) I don't need to finance more, especially valueless personal character attacks at people that just want to share their experiences. But you do you.
