Nexus 5 is just my kind of synth. Multi-sample import into multi-layers plus other features. Nirvana.

But without a demo it's hard to justify a $200 purchase. Audio and video demos don't do a thing for me and I rarely even bother listening to them.

I need to know how it performs on my system, in my hands. Is it fun for me to program? Is the included sample content the kind I want and need? Is the GUI comfortable to view for long periods on my monitor and so on ? Questions that can't be answered without time spent with a demo version.

I do really want to add Nexus 5 to my collection but at this point I think I'll have to pass...

It's good you can still zoom the text in library view but I'm in layer view and having a hard time reading the text. This is that tab zoomed at about 110% on my 27" screen.

Bought the Nexus5 upgrade (and an Expansion), but I have some questions with respect to Nexus4:

- The librarian doesn't have the +/- buttons to change the size of text, is it?
- Any plans to add few basic skins? Especially a light skin.

- Use ctrl/command + scroll wheel to change text size in librarian
- Yes, the skin engine is still there, just need to build some skins

CMD + scroll is really nice and better than buttons. A couple of skins soon would be great, one being a light one.

It would be helpful to save certain settings as default (example UI scaling, Librarian text size, Collapse/Reveal view preferences of Expansions/Folders on the left, etc.) Right now, everything gets reset on DAW restart.

Currently, the text looks a bit dull/muted on the dark black UI and the size and readability in general needs to be improved IMO. I don't have this problem with any other synth. Even the built in Nexus2 mode is so much better on eyes (I admit it has less going on, but still.)

Also, I noticed that when changing presets in Nexus2 mode, a disk icon pops up to the left of "Filter Modifier". Is this expected?

Thanks. Yes, please check. I am using Logic Pro on Mac mini M2 Pro, Sequoia 15.1.1. Saving new default AU preset doesn't seem to be working perfectly for me.

Okay, that's interesting. Would be nice if there was a way to get rid of that preset loading indicator though.

Is it possible to downgrade Nexus 5 to Nexus 4.5 if you previously updated Nexus 4.5 to Nexus 5? I am just not sure that I need Nexus 5. If I buy it and it turns out that I do not need it, then I will be glad to downgrade Nexus 5 to Nexus 4.5 if it is possible.

That nexus bug is back where I can't load the presets I created.

It seems to be the samples for the corresponding presets were somehow deleted from the "user samples" folder as they are no longer located there. I have about 500 roughly made preset templates I made with custom wavetables and samples. I am merely going in there and loading up the samples to tweak further down the road. There should be 500 folders of samples within the user samples folder as one preset per one sample folder. There are only 250 sample folder containing samples in the user preset folder where I'm expecting nearly 500!!

I was able to load the presets I made yesterday so what happened? Oddly I was getting the error message alot but when I restarted or later in the session they magically started to load again. Today it seems no such luck.

The presets don't seem to load because the samples aren't in the user folder, best I can guess.

Can you please make a way to search a folder to find the missing samples so I don't need to manually redo all that work and also, I don't see the wisdom in creating more presets until this issue gets resolved.

Might I suggest not even bothering copying the samples used to make presets in the user samples folder until after a bank is exported? There seems to be some issues with the process of recalling or missing samples in addition to another "bug" Ill post.

Alright I made a quick video on what I think is going it. It might be a result of me not reading the manual for the correct way to be loading presets and making patches. I load samples, then save the patch, then I delete the samples from the sample editor and load new samples and save a new patch. What I show what is happening is in the process of deleting the presets in the sample editor to load new samples for a new patch, it seems the samples I delete from the sample editor also remove the samples from the user sample folder in a way I can't recall the patch, even though it seems common sense since I already saved the patch it won't undo a critical operation from a previous patch in the creation of a new one.



I also address the issue of samples hanging on from previous patch creation. I'm also not sure if it was designed to be that way but if so, it's crazy since if I want a bank with a couple hundred patches, I don't want them all showing up in the sample editor window all the time. It would get too busy to the extreme.
