i like what she said and how she said it.
to my eyes and ears, it all hinges upon "derivative works" laws by definition.
she helped to clarify that.

How can AI copyright claim anything, it is AI that tends to infringe on copyright but it is not capable of creating anything original or have intellectual property rights as it is not a human being so I don't see how this makes sense

Never underestimate the absurdity of the copyright system. There are multi-million dollar companies doing nothing but suing other companies on copyright claims. Copyright is in itself an industry because the laws are so poorly made and prone to abuse.

If you bother to read the legalese stuff on Suno it says we own anything you create here. I'm assuming that's even original work since you can input your own lyrics. That why I quit using it.

he used an ai app, and then its ownership of the music created, for it to then seek music that sounded like his ai music, which was based on his own track (he let the ai listen to it, then got it to create similar, somehow, with prompts, i didnt pay attention) then the sites ai went and found his music, and give him a strike on youtube.aMUSEd wrote: Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:09 am How can AI copyright claim anything, it is AI that tends to infringe on copyright but it is not capable of creating anything original or have intellectual property rights as it is not a human being so I don't see how this makes sense

The idea is very simple:
Someone sits down - for example in China or Timbuktu -
and makes a lot of music with the help of AI. He makes pretty much
every kind of music that exists today. With AI you can do that relatively
quickly. This "someone" now has an incredible number of music tracks,
as many as a single person can make in a million years. Let's call this
"someone" Mr. Multimusic.
Mr. Multimusic now uploads all of his tracks to YouTube and Soundcloud.
And now comes the big surprise: Mr. Multimusic can now issue warnings
for copyright infringements to almost all other pieces of music on
YouTube and Soundcloud and claim the copyrights for himself.
This will certainly happen soon - and then no one will be able to upload
anything to the internet. Because Mr. Multimusic will warn everyone. The
internet will be closed in the future!
You can still make music in your studio as you wish. But you can no
longer upload any of it to the internet without Mr. Multimusik taking
everything over and labeling it as his own original.
The entire copyright lies with Mr. Multimusik - and no one
will be able to get any copyright for their music anymore.
Because Mr. Multimusik has all the copyrights ...

If anyone or anything claims copyright infringement you have the RIGHT to demand they prove it, which means copyright is pending or has been granted... It is against the law to deny providing proof... This bullshit of someone or something claiming such is nonsense, they gotta prove it!!

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.. but it doesn't. The whole Content ID system of Youtube and elsewhere is a clusterfuck.eLawnMust wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 4:28 pm If anyone or anything claims copyright infringement you have the RIGHT to demand they prove it, which means copyright is pending or has been granted... "China or Timbuktu" ... that is, of course, a variable that must be
filled by some distant, little-known place on earth. A place to which
the jurisdiction of a Western constitutional state has no access
whatsoever.
But that's not really that important. Because the type of "copyright"
takeover through an AI action described above could also be
carried out by the neighbor next door.
Because this action is completely legal! Once Mr. Multimusic gets
the YouTube Content ID system working for all of his songs, he will
own all copyrights and there will be no room for other music and
musicians.

It is not the instantly recognizable evildoers and thieves who are
destroying this world. No - it is those who cleverly use legal means
who are truly dangerous to humanity.
