Yeah, I heard you have to completely rewrite the code every time Apple releases a new M-series processor. That's how that works! They are doing it out of spite, I tell you.

I am staying with my 20th century-style space heater!

I don't think you need to rewrite anything when going from m1 to m2 to m3 etc...

Not going to install their installer just to run flowerchild , never heard of that company till now and honoustly it smells a bit shady .
Why run their installer if the majority of the plugins they are hosting is freeware and can be found on the OG websites ?

My impression is that they are a startup with a kind of hazy idea of what it is they want to do. The app is there because their current idea is that of a universal installer that also saves your license information in one place. It's quite clunky at that basic functionality. But I dealt with them and they seem to be genuine.

At the moment they seem to be using their funding to provide incentives to their subscribers - there were a few plugins for free for signing up, and over black Friday they had an additional 30% discount in their shop (which had some of the standard BF vendor offers going)

Necro bump. Whatever happened to this?

There have been no manifestations.

UI has been the most challenging thing I've ever had to learn in life. I've finished a lot of new DSP since this thread (so I haven't been doing any UI stuff). This is the first month that I started studying CLAP and JUCE for UI, but progress is slow. I'll be using CLAP to VST converter as well.

If you're wondering "uhh hey, the UI already exists for this" it's because the code has to be scrapped since programmers that helped make it are long gone and it is buggy anyway.

Any news?

Thanks. So there is some activity?

I'm looking for an analog filter that can also sound dirty. Not just creamy :)

I can send you an invite, as the whole story is a bit longer.

that's literally my entire life, my entire thing, that is Soundemote in a sentence. Get the public beta. Now, if I had time for soundemote I'd make 10 more dirty filters that do all sorts of whacky things. I know how to write the code to do it! The only thing stopping me is lack of time.

Hi Architeuthis,

Thanks for your reply. Are you still working on it even if you doesn't have much time? I mean even a GUI-less version would be ok if it's too much work for you. If you need a design I can do that for you. I assume the GUI implementation is the time consuming task in your case.

I've played around a bit with the beta and wonder how the self-resonating can be controlled. How can I stop it for example? I reckon I need to use an envelope/sidechain input or something. I don't have much experience with standalone filters.

Is the beta actually stable/usable in real world projects or are there any known bugs (like noise bursts)? I'm using VST3 on Windows.

Thank you very much for your work

I guess it can't be delegated to the AI assistant yet. :D

It'd be nice to get something useful from it. Data gathering in - filter out.

gui-less version? hmm, issue is that I secretly don't agree with the design philosophy of flower child filter. It should be a synth for a very good reason: the workflow sucks if it doesn't generate its own sound. Also, as a synth I can better control input which means better control of output which means ease of use. Literally, all you need is a stupid sawtooth, then flower child filter can do amazing things. AND so that's why a ui-less version... is... oh wait... a good idea? because the workflow will be equally bad? Hah. Ok FAIR! Maybe I will try to work on that. New years resolution, get back on to Soundemote stuff.

Edit: if i do make a synth though ill be sure to include an input/fx version.

Beta: It crashes due to a UI bug if you automate a parameter and the UI thinks it's still open and trys to move a non-existing control, it'll crash the DAW.

Flower Child resonance: Use the gate feature, you can gate output based on input. This is how an analog modular does it. Definitely don't be afraid to crank up that self-oscillation, it's meant to scream.
