FWIW only found out about it when I happened to see an ad for it in facebook mobile - with an aug2024 code which gave me a $8 discount.

Lese Glow currently on offer at PB, anyone have any opinions on how it stacks up against some of the other granular effects?

Glow is good - I have plenty of others and they all seem to lead to different results. I keep thinking one should cover all the bases but turns out that is not the case at all..chrisstiles wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:21 pm Lese Glow currently on offer at PB, anyone have any opinions on how it stacks up against some of the other granular effects?
I recommend also trialing Graindad, BEAM and Emergence - which is free I think

Not favorite, but right now extremely affordable and worth to notes imho:
Puremagnetik has still it´s sale going on. 50% off. See pink strip on top of the page.
So you can snag some stuff for as low as $8.50
Some of the plugins should qualifie as "Granular". Can´t tell you more.

Crusher x is probably my favorite. I also love sample sumo, salty grains. Then all the silly Reaktor devices are always cool. The finger has lots of fun granular tricks.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

+1 for SALTY GRAIN! Bought it a decade ago.. and I still use it!Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 12:50 am Crusher x is probably my favorite. I also love sample sumo, salty grains. Then all the silly Reaktor devices are always cool. The finger has lots of fun granular tricks.
Love Crusher-X as well, but I won`t pay for their pricey updates. I think it`s now at version 10, but v6 suits me fine.

They also have a new plugin called slice that can get granular like effects.pekbro wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 3:22 am I like Lese Glow, also recurse from the same dev, tho recurse is not a granular effect.
I don't think I actually have a favorite granular effect tbh...

Don't forget to update it, if you haven't since a long time. They added filtering per grain last year, which is really cool and opening up alot of new sonic possibilities.panspOrmia wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 7:32 am+1 for SALTY GRAIN! Any time i see a granular thread I have to give TAL's G verb a shout.
It's an incredibly flexible effect that combines a granular processor and FDN reverb.
You can route the reverb through the grain processor or vice versa.
it can do everything from shimmery cloudy stuff to glitchy fragmented stuff.
It has a pitch sequencer for the granular processor and a whole host of other features.

Bitwig likely has the most advanced granular engine outside of say Max/Msp.
