It has a specific engine just for that

yes its under the "Trig" tab, right next to the drums tab

Here is something unrelated to the crackling issues I have a question about.

I can get Avenger to send out arp MIDI but only with respect to Arp 1. How does one send out notes from Arps 2, 3, etc?

You can export each Arps MiDi via the little hamburger icon next to the preset selection menu. When I route it out to another track and record it I get all the arps MIDI at once,I can’t figure out how to send MIDi out on individual channels from each ARP,I don’t think it’s possible or maybe I’m missing something

Going back on the "Crackling issue" CPU spikes, etc...
I messaged the Avenger support in order to get back the version v2.0.5 and they were kind enough (as usual) to provide me a link.
The v2.0.5 was an improvement for the CPU spikes on Apple Silicon compare to v2.0 and v1.8.* as per general consensus.

My personal feeling was that the performance degraded again since v2.0.5 and I was disappointed by the v2.3.1...

So I tested a doted bassline with CyberPunkII/AR Dark Sun preset which is quite demanding.
On a MacBook Pro M2 Pro, I can run 6 instances of Avenger 2.0.5 before I hear some cracks with AR Dark Sun.
On the other hand, I can run .... 6 instances of Avenger 2.3.1 before I hear some cracks with AR Dark Sun.

So "mea culpa", you can keep the latest version of Avenger it is not worth CPU wise than the reference v2.0.5 (or at least as far as I quickly tested).
But, clearly, the presets from Avenger are crazy complex and demanding... It is NOT to be layered... And I think Avenger may be the worst/more demanding plugin I know for MacOS (but also the most powerful to be fair).
I have Dark extension presets that are killing my quite potent CPU even faster...

Does anyone know if there is a written list of samples that are contained in an Avenger expansion? I'd like to pick up one or two expansions during the sale but I want to make sure the sample content is something I'll want and use.

All I can find is YouTube videos for each expansion.

I can run 64 instance of the same Pad (2 osc, unisson, reverb, chorus) wit 64 buffer @48khz
CPU spike around 43-52%
But I couldn't manage with 128 instance, Reaper do not respond.

I am confused. Are you talking about my preset? It is not a pad.

Did you try to compare with same setup different synths ?

I did with phase plant, twin 3, Current and Spire. Avenger clearly use more CPU even on a simple preset with just oscillators and filters.

After, to be honest, its filters are sounding so awesome. Even better than spire (which is a reference of great sounding synth imho).

I really like AA-Reverb ...is it available in an fx vst ? I know there is the V-Verb but is it the same ?

What I know is that they outsourced some of the reverbs from best in class standalone reverb developers. So I am pretty sure they can't provide an effect rack without breaking an agreement.

Interesting ...and what would be the best in class stand alone reverb ?

That's a good question. Somewhere in the thousands of pages of this thread, it is mentioned.

What I remember is that they cited a few dev compagnies (not favfilter, not Valhalla DSP) apparently well regarded in the industry for which they directly purchased their algorithm. I think they were being modest because somebody was raving at the reverb quality and they openly said it is not theirs..
But it is all my memory, feel free to do a bit of archaeology.

I'd say between Liquidsonics and Relab.

You're referring to the AA reverb and modulation effects? Pretty sure they're from ArtsAcoustic. Haven't made much noise in a while but they were a very well regarded dev like 10yrs ago

Now that you say it, it does ring a bell.
