Commercial patches/sound banks are usually not allowed. I think the reason for that is to keep a level playing field, so maybe it wouldn't be a problem if they were freely available to all participants. It seems reasonable to me, but I'm not the authority here. If any of the patches use samples other than the stock noise samples, that would also be an issue. OSC rules are finicky about the use of samples.Touch The Universe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:13 am I'll be happy to supply one of my banks for this contest, if it's allowed.

Ah, forgot about that. I also used a ton of custom WT, so it might be a no go.

Custom wavetables are usually okay, so long as you're not using them for sample-like playback.

I'm having so much fun. It's been a while
also, anyone claimed "Synthaclause" yet? If not, I have dibs.

Then there are vocals not even possible... right?FrogsInPants wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 10:00 am Custom wavetables are usually okay, so long as you're not using them for sample-like playback.
Some of my presets still using additional wavetables... hm.

If you mean using the TTWT for vocals, that's what I was asking about earlier. Richard confirmed that the special rule from the previous Vital round is back in effect: TTWT use does not have to follow the usual rules here.SIL3NC3_SWX wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:41 amThen there are vocals not even possible... right?FrogsInPants wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 10:00 am Custom wavetables are usually okay, so long as you're not using them for sample-like playback.

Just to be clear, does this mean I can use wavetables internally in Vital, but not using samples in project, like with the OSC189 (Myth). Right?

So can I use my own recorded voice?

My understanding is that any use of the text-to-wavetable functionality within Vital is okay, use of the factory noise samples within Vital is okay, and otherwise the usual rules for wavetables and samples apply.SIL3NC3_SWX wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 1:38 am Sorry to have to ask again:

Importing your own samples or using samples outside of Vital is not allowed. Using your own recorded voice is not allowed.

HI! I am not usually on these forums. I've been using Vital for some time, so I thought I'd submit for this contest!
Made in Reaper v7.28 with 6 Vital(1.0.7) instances.
I used reaper's builtin midi region faders, which automate velocity. I also used ReaLimit to do some simple mixing. Other than that, the bulk of things were done in Vital from scratch. I liked being able to tune the drums which I haven't often done otherwise.
It's a pretty simple project (as is customary for me). Maybe it's good or not, but I had fun regardless!

Hi. I just want to let you know: the latest version of Vital to date is 1.5.5 - it brings a lot of new things. But versions of the 1.5.x series work not for all - then the last of the old versions is 1.0.8.

25 instances of Vital were used in Ableton 10 to make this, I used mostly effects built in to Vital and some Ableton effects as well.
Ableton effects used: Utility x 8; Limiter x 4; Convolution Reverb x 3; Echo x 2; EQ8 x 6.
Third party plugins: Loudmax free and Youlean Loudness Meter 2 Free.
