I'm finding that I can load a ton of samples into a test patch and then the other previous presets that were showing missing samples errors will now open. I guess the sample location or file name is saved in the preset file at fxp and it's looking in the user samples folder and it'll locate them once it's in there. That's good! I just wanted to do one more test to see if the sample loops when I imported them are saved in fxp file or in the actual dot sample file itself. The sample loops might have been different in the other presets so I need to verify that the same cuz I actually did do some work in there.

It is impossible to log in to the REFX site due to the CAPTCHA. It will fail and go to the next image regardless of how meticilous I am with selecting the correct squares. Anyone else with this isse?

Touch The Universe wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2024 8:34 am Alright I made a quick video on what I think is going it. It might be a result of me not reading the manual for the correct way to be loading presets and making patches. I load samples, then save the patch, then I delete the samples from the sample editor and load new samples and save a new patch. What I show what is happening is in the process of deleting the presets in the sample editor to load new samples for a new patch, it seems the samples I delete from the sample editor also remove the samples from the user sample folder in a way I can't recall the patch, even though it seems common sense since I already saved the patch it won't undo a critical operation from a previous patch in the creation of a new one.

I also address the issue of samples hanging on from previous patch creation. I'm also not sure if it was designed to be that way but if so, it's crazy since if I want a bank with a couple hundred patches, I don't want them all showing up in the sample editor window all the time. It would get too busy to the extreme.
Someone commented on this video that the solution to this issue is not to delete the samples from the sample editor. Can someone confirm this is the way Nexus just handle things? That any sample you import will always show up for some reason in the sample editor window, even if it's hundreds or what not, whether they are used in a patch or not?

The manual does not specify this. If this is the way it should work, then I can get back to designing presets.
The sampler is buggy as hell. if you ask me the development is far from finished but N5 had to be released on black friday.

what do you mean by buggy as hell? most of my issues with the sampler in Nexus 5 have been my user errors and lack of knowledge, my own shortcomings. when I slow down, read work on it it works fine for me. been loading sample packs, my old Roland Fantom X samples, Kontakt samples etc. been having a ball playing and creating patches in Nexus 5.

Nexus 5 was in development for a while, took a while to make all the new library and sounds. didn't happen over night. but development always has it's issues. different users, knowledge, computer configurations, operating systems etc. put it in the hands of the users and there is going to be some bugs found, new feature requests that users want etc. Nexus 5 is already at 5.1.1 and they are working on fixes and error logs as we speak, I don't have any inside knowledge, just what has been posted in this thread as the developers are active. only been released 6 days ago.

be more helpful if you specifically posted what exactly your having issues with the sampler are, users might be able to assist you, or maybe you have found a bug some haven't. but posting a general this sucks doesn't help anybody. Me I'm be patient and trying to learn as there is a lot new under the hood of Nexus 5

Does Nexus 5 needs to clean install or can I just upgrade from 4 to 5 without un-installing ?

Looks pretty great. With all these capabilities and modulation, i'm surprised it is not mpe compatible. Is there an easy and paste function like omnisphere has for copying layers and instantly setting all layers to a different midi channel. That could be a workaround.

I'm hoping someone can let me know if there is a way to assign any fx or inserts to individual layer.

Yes, on the routing page, grab the dot at the bottom of the layer, drag and a new fx group will appear. Connect the wire to the new fx group.
