I had, but I never knew KVR was that old.
If you count the initial lurking, and the database crash in the beginning, some of us had already been on KVRAudio for a few years already, by the time 2004 rolled around. :D

you young whippersnapper don't know what it was like, dial up internet, 20 min download for an image, forget video or audio of any great length. unless you know, no one will use the home phone for 24 hours per min of audio!!! in 32bit mp3 :o

At least I could play Colossal Cave!
Bro, that game is from the 70s and the guy you quoted talked about 1994 but thought he was talking about 2004. What's wrong with you people? Why can't you get it right. It's really not hard.
The problem is you are behind us in time. We can't wait forever. So we moved on.

There's a difference that is heard easily. Reason? You're holding it wrong.

DAW's do not sound different. I'm most stubborn , perfectionist amongst al. back in a day , (multiple DAW user) every time I opened Logic it sounded 3d , multidimensional and reach in terms of sound amongst all DAW's . then I noticed default Logic project had compressor and Space reverb on master channel . when I took them out it sounded same as every other DAW.
All DAW's sound the same . it's either placebo effect (person with visual impairment would confirm it ) or there's effects on master bus . something along this lines .

Exact same plugin and same preset on a brand new, blank project.
Why so different?
Just to exclude: you are 100% sure you are running both projects on the same sample rate? Because there are some plugins, which behave differently at different sample rates.

It's named "Sine Sweep.wav"
And then what?
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image

I meant that the op should try running it through his setup and sharing the results, then we might perhaps all be the wiser. There's a 4 second sine sweep and 4 seconds of white noise, two files.

I'd like to do that. I brought up some points that I thought might be worth investigating back on page 3, but they were ignored. You never mentioned the plugin or the preset, nor whether or not this issue is specific to that preset or that plugin, so what are the rest of us supposed to do? I could easily enough load up a random plugin with a random preset and create a random MIDI clip to test in a variety of DAWs, but that wouldn't really prove much.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
