spotify made an extra $500 million with their 'bundling' scheme by reducing payments to artists.

i think they're also still paying $2.77 million a month for rent on their world trade center offices in NYC.

but.. meh.. i'm sure it'll all be just fine... eventually.

It’s always been this way. The people at the top always make an shitload. Also, the average US senator has several times as much money as the world’s best doctors and scientists and nearly every representative makes more than 99% of Americans.

They could reinvest in their shite algorithm and at least put CD quality stuff out. I've read Deezer does that and Spotify is still doing 320 kbps mp3 quality.
I'd contribute the 12 cents they've paid me, but my distributor won't pay me until I've reached $7.50. Only 70 more years to go!

I'm guessing the ratio is tipped far more aggressively in this particular parasite's favour than any other throughout music history.JerGoertz wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:37 am Businessmen have traditionally made more money than artists.

the reaction of the USA to the assassination of the united healthcare CEO is interesting and should put all greedy CEOs and companies that are exploiting a resource on notice to maybe be less dickish in order to keep people from snapping and embracing violence.

still rocking my ipod w/music i paid for loaded on it.
i've never streamed from any streaming service. would much rather be my own algorithm and not be confined to places where wifi etc exists to be able to listen to music.
