I'd contribute the 12 cents they've paid me, but my distributor won't pay me until I've reached $7.50. Only 70 more years to go!
Don't know about Deezer, but Tidal does. Goes up to 24bit if available, is 1€ cheaper than Spotify in my country (11€/month vs. 12€/month), no ads, nothing.

Not trying to be an elitist, as I had Spotify premium for like 6 years. It's just not worth it anymore.

Not bad for the boss of a company that has never made a profit.

Yep, for now. but I'm not on the gripe train. I wonder how many people are like me? It's an ad-free music service that allows me to listen to most of what I want for less than the time value of listening to ads. From a consumer's point of view, that's most of it. So, if you don't want it to work, you need to have the music that I listen to removed. Well, I probably don't listen to any of your music, so, really you need to reach out to the few quasi-mainstream artists that I listen to regularly to take their music off of Spotify.

In short, you have no leverage and are unlikely to obtain any with your moral messaging.

Say that about politicians and suddenly you’re a terrorist.

Ona a side note, can we just take a second to appreciate the psychopathic mentality it takes to justify murdering an unarmed civilian? Here’s something a lot of people don’t know. Denials aren’t even made at the corporate CEO level. It’s done on the local health plan level, usually by the local health plan CFO in coordination with their chief medical officer and an oversight panel of people way below him. I’ve been on those calls myself.

If you’re able to justify violence just ask yourself one question: Whom have you wronged in the past? Because it can easily come back to bite you in the ass.

Do you have prior approval for that second of thought? Also, this subthread is way off topic and likely get this moved into HPC. Could you take it elsewhere please?

No need. It’s rationed socialized healthcare and I get to see a doctor about it in 4 month. It’s also not my thread.

They definitely do not. And their audio sounds/feels much worse than what I hear on bandcamp. Suspect bandcamp is not skimping on bits.

All you have to do is pay your CEO and staff more, and pay more for your buildings, and Voila, no profit and less taxation. No-brainer.

Pity they couldn't see actually paying the people whose content they ride upon a minimum wage for all their hard effort as part of that tax write-off.

Whatever they are doing to the music industry, the investors are clearly in agreement. Maybe turning profit isn't the primary goal for Spotify.

From IBD: The audio entertainment service earned the equivalent of $1.59 a share on sales of $4.38 billion in the September quarter. Spotify reports financial results in euros

(That's a little over $1 billion PER MONTH)
