I personally don’t really click with Soothe, but the idea is the same indeed.roman.i wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 6:56 pmIsn't it the same as applying Soothe on that track?DJErmac wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 6:16 pm I absolutely disagree with this, sorry.
One note = one frequency. A piano MIDI keyboard is 61 to 88 notes.
You may need way more than this if you want to tweak a sample library, I very often need about 50. I de-mud every-note in the 250-650Hz range, and de-ess every single note in the 3500-11000Hz range. And that’s just the beginning. A single parameter works in no-case for all purposes. The Fletcher-Manson curve itself couldn’t be properly covered after hours of tweaking your curve, even if it’s what you’re after. Or it’s a monitors problem, an upgrade is needed. Mine are fine, they show big troubles with only 4 or 5 bands, sorry. And people pay for what I do.
I personally use Melda MADEq as a dynamiq EQ.![]()
I use MADEq when I want a snappier, alive sound.
