What is your screen resolution in 2024?

Hi people. Which monitor resolution do you use in 2024? I need the info for a plugin developer who would like to enlarge his plugin GUIs to be relevant in 2024 and beyond.

When purchasing a monitor it is important to consider PWM(image flicker) and Text Clarity.

Tried a 4k ultra wide recently, but there still seems to be annoying things with scaling/zooming in some plugins and programs where parts of GUIs gets lost!

To people using 4k: do you have any plugins that doesn't support 4k and when using zooming in Windows the GUI gets borked? How do you fix this? (without having to do a fix over and over again each time you open the GUI?)

There's a few plugins I have which don't yet have full 4K+ scaling support. But to be honest, around ~95% of my most regularly-used plugins are still in active development and so have received recent UHD scaling support.

Dune 3 for example, was a little lacking on its previously largest "Huge" GUI setting, when viewed in 4K. So I requested for a higher-resolution option to be added, on Synapse Audio's customer forum and Richard kindly obliged. A few months later they released v3.6 with a "UHD" GUI setting, which scales perfectly at 4K.

I also made similar requests to FabFilter a couple of years back on their forum, along with other users asking for better scaling support, they responded saying they would see what they could do. And not long after, they released their entire product line with, excellent scaling settings for almost any display setup.

There have been several others also who have done likewise (I'm hoping u-he will give their plugins a bit of UHD bump over the next couple of years - Urs has said they'll probably need to "vectorize" their GUIs over the next few years to do so). Of course all of these developers are still actively maintaining and updating these plugins, so it's definitely worth asking if the developers of a particular plugin are still around.

For plugins which are now depreciated/discontinued and so lack their own internal GUI scaling options (for higher resolutions), there are some DAWs which may offer certain workarounds. Image-Line for example, recently added an ability (in FL Studio) to match such plugins' GUI scaling to the native Operating System UI setting. This helps scale up older plugins on 4K displays (albeit, it doesn't work perfectly for all such plugins admittedly, but it does for many of them and will hopefully be improved over time for the rest).

Here is a relative size comparison of a non-scalable-GUI plugin in FL Studio, with and without the plugin wrapper's "DPI aware" setting enabled at 4K (3840 x 2160 px). With the Operating System set at 300% scaling ~ The setting is remembered once set for each plugin, in any subsequent/future plugin instances for that plugin.

Great resources, any idea if the text fringing was fixed in windows for WOLED and QD OLED screens? I mean some official MS update, not MacType injection or Cleartype2 with grayscale option.
