You are such a presumptous trollBONES wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 12:35 amWhy on Earth would you buy a laptop with a screen that wasn't going to work for you? I did, once, but I got rid of it pretty quickly and went back to something I can actually use. Anything more than Full HD (1920x1080 or 1920x1200) on a laptop is a waste of time. It shouldn't be up to plugin vendors to solve your problems.thecontrolcentre wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 2:32 amIts sooo tiny on my 17" Laptop I can't read any of the text, other than the plugin's name, making it pretty much unusable. Why on earth is a 2023 vst not re-sizable, or at least large enough for modern displays?![]()

I did not find a manual for Frohmager. There is only a link within the „?“-button to another Ohmforce-plugin. Does a manual exist (or a tutorial)?

It's the fact that the plugin automatically connects even when the manual is not accessed.Red_Force wrote: Fri Oct 20, 2023 1:49 am Wait why? Hosting a manual online is common practice (even though right now it's a placeholder one, Frohmage manual is currently being written). It allows us to update it independently from the app. I am unclear why this is an issue for you?
It might be easier for you to keep the manual updated but having a free plugin connect to the internet willy nilly just seems more like data collecting than a convenience for the end user. You can see in my screenshots that data is flowing both in and out so we have no way of telling what is being exchanged.
How many times would you really need to update the manual without updating the plugin itself? So having the manual as part of the install makes more sense as is done with so many other plugins. The fact that you released the plugin without a finished manual is well...I'll just leave that alone. What if the user's DAW is offline? No manual for them?
Imagine a project with dozens of plugins all connecting at the same time to different locations. Too many developers seem to think they can take any liberties with our studio systems that they wish and quite frankly that attitude concerns me. The security and stability of my DAW system is paramount to me and should be to anyone who values their work.
Yes a lot of plugins connect these days to call home for copy protection checks. For plugins I like it's just a necessary annoyance that one must tolerate. I prefer that method over intrusive copy protection schemes that require us to install any third party software that the developer has no control over or custom apps that load at startup and run as background processes (looking at you Waves and UAD).
Anyway I appreciate you setting this plugin free but to be honest it doesn't really do anything I need and the auto connect was the final straw so I've simply uninstalled it.
Good luck going forward but again I'm moving on......

Oh ok I thought this was the OG frohmage but this has the Ohmboyz infinity gui and is a new plugin. Very interesting, will have to check this out. The new modulatory stuff looks promising.

Ha, I think I know why it connects. Took me some time to remember, but it checks if there is an update and when that happens there's an "update" option that appears on the UI.Teksonik wrote: Sat Oct 21, 2023 2:02 pm Anyway I appreciate you setting this plugin free but to be honest it doesn't really do anything I need and the auto connect was the final straw so I've simply uninstalled it.

Just installed the new update on Intel Monterey. The presets are being installed in the wrong location. They're put in /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Presets instead of /Library/Audio/Presets. When I first ran Frohmager the presets were all gone.
