Coming back to Win after loving iPadOS, feeling dumb

So, after years of MacOS then WinXP and 7…
Then discovering and loving iOS and iPadOS since 2017….loving it, enjoying it, have never been more inspired nor created as much as I did on my G3 Blue Dalmatian iMac with just and only Reason 2.5.
Typing and otherwise on a Win machine has been a total PITA in every way now…BUT!
I was granted a 2018-ish Razor Blade….put Win11 on it.
Dumb to not use it.
But I’m way outside of what’s going on nowadays.
Of course I went back to Reaper, as I had used before….but stuff on iPad has spoiled me, so I’m thinking super simple and straightforward.
So a life Mulab license has been a lovely perfect timing blessing.
I’ve a number of huge fave freeware…so no need for that.
So….I admit to being a lazy MFer….and as a hobbiest and cheapskate….
So!
Gimmie a huge, easy, simple, fat, full ROMpler!
(Synth1 with the huge amount of stuff in the zip files, I got! Might as well be a ROMpler there’s so many presets! Heh)
I’m a 80s and synthwave fan, and have an equal weak-in-the-knees feel for synths/sounds from 1970s major and b-movies, too.
Synth….ROMpler…both.
Easy interaction. Simple interface. Solid, quality sounds. Low CPU usage. Low cost (under 100 US bucks and done).
Gimmie that big, low cost ‘go to’, folks.
Or am I far more stupid than I imagine? Heheh!

I don’t really use romplers anymore, but I used to like Sonic Cat Purity and Air XPand!2 (AFAIK still not resizable though).
Roland Cloud XV-5080 has tons of sounds built-in, sounds good, but is more expensive.
Synthmaster 3 has tons of possibilities synth-wise and the optional expansions are very good - e.g. the Historical Giants banks have some of my favorite presets.

OK. The request is to go under $100. I have a solution that cannot be beat. (I dare anyone to do so).
1. Download Sforzando and avail yourself of all of the SFZ goodness you can get from:
https://sfzinstruments.github.io/
In addition, grab all of the available SFZ and SF2 goodness from here:
viewtopic.php?t=597968
Note: Sforzando converts sf2 to sfz, so both formats are winners here.
2. Download Decent Sampler here:
https://www.decentsamples.com/product/d ... er-plugin/
And download all of the Decent Sampler files you can from here:
https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/
3. Here's where you spend your money. Go buy the full version of TX16Wx from here:
https://www.tx16wx.com
https://www.tx16wx.com/tx16wx-professional/
https://www.tx16wx.com/product/tx16wx-v3/
Note:
You may use the discounted license if any of the following are true:
You are an individual, using TX16Wx only for personal use.
You are an individual or business, using TX16Wx for commercial use, and the yearly gross revenue does not exceed 10,000 EUR.
So far, you total cost is about 40 Euro.
Now, after you have gathered the about 200GB of instruments for your Rompler plugins, there are some additional goodies you can get and use:
1. This is an essential tool for gathering any additional sounds you may find you want. It's free and very useful:
https://www.mossgrabers.de/Software/Con ... hMoss.html
2. Samples from Mars is "still" doing their Black Friday sale. If you hurry, you can still grab this fantastic deal--their entire line of samples (about 70GB) for $50 at their site:
https://samplesfrommars.com/products/al ... -from-mars
NOTE: They do this sample sale every year, so if you miss it this year, you can get it next year. It's an absolute steal!!
3. You may find that you have all you could possibly want at this point, but if you are still searching, this a a great bargain as well:
https://www.amazound.com/store/soundfonts
All in all, you can end up with about 300+GB of high quality instruments, as well as some very useful tools (including the most full-blown sampler available in all three platform formats: Windows, MacOS, and Linux, all for about $100. You have additional choices for where to buy additional instruments as well. Organize them into groups, and it will be a full blown rompler. This ought to fill up your rompler plugins nicely.
Here's how I organize my sample folders:
* GM Soundfont Banks
* GM-Mapped Drum Kits/Percussion
* Pianos
* Organs
* Keys Misc
* Guitar
* Bass
* Orchestral Libraries
* Orchestral Misc Strings
* Orchestral Misc Woodwinds
* Orchestral Misc Brass
* Orchestral Misc Bells
* Orchestral Percussion
* Choir/Vocals
* Synth Keys
* Synth Leads
* Synth Bass
* Synth Pads/Strings/textures/Drones
* Synth Winds
* Synth Brass
* Synth Bells
* Synth Percussion
* Synth Arps/Plucks
* Synth Misc
* World/Ethnic
* Drum Kits/Hits
* Drum Percussion
* Drum Misc
* SFX
Final note: I can't recommend Karoryfer's commercial sample offerings highly enough. If you are looking for some great Pro Quality instruments in an open format, this is the first place to look:
https://shop.karoryfer.com/
I challenge ANYONE to beat this.
