How is that my job? I don't even give a shit.

How is that supposed to work? When you pay Baby Audio $49 or $99 for BA-1, Baby Audio gets all of that money but when you pay $29.99 for the iPad version, Apple skims a third off the top. Frankly, I don't know why they bother at all, so I think what you'd find is if push came to shove, they'd just drop the iPad version and you'd be worse off. Would that make you happy as the alternative to "double-dipping"?

Why are you such a crybaby haha, it's insane. Every post.

All you're saying here is that Baby Audio can profit off over BA-1, even when they sell it for $20.3c (after Apple's third).

If that's the case, there's simply no reason for it to even be $49 in the first place, yet alone $99.
This is the second time where you haven't realised your own words hurt your position.

I think the "I don't get why they bother at all" types will wind up a thing of the past - Apple is clearly keen to move forwards with turning the iPad into something more serious for music creation.

What you're saying makes no sense. You can stay in the past and fight people on internet forums on behalf of corporations, if you like. Each to their own.

Mate, the cry-baby here is you. I am perfectly happy to pay my fair share, to support the companies whose products support my own endeavours, whilst all you seem to be able to do is whine that the world won't bend to your will and give you everything you want for nothing. That's the way five year-olds think, you need to grow the f**k up.

You don't even seem to understand the most basic things that underpin your life. If Baby Audio had to sell the VST version for the same price as the iPad version, you can bet both versions would be $99 and they'd accept that no-one was going to spend that much on an iPad app. As it stands, it's likely that VST customers subsidise iPad users because I can guarantee you BA would be out of business in a few months if they started charging everyone iOS prices for their Mac and Windows software.

How the f**k is Apple doing anything at all to make an iPad useful for music creation? It doesn't even have a f**king headphone jack, FFS!, let alone a useful selection of ports for your peripherals. Compared to a Surface Pro, an iPad is a complete f**king joke.

BA-1 owner here: either I'm missing something or the preset loader doesn't work. I bought the V2 preset pack, tried to use the preset loader to import the packs, nothing happened despite following the instructions to the letter- am I missing something fundamental? I've emailed them three times, nobody has replied, so I've just raised a support ticket, but I'm hacked off with this now.

I remember installing the preset packs easily when I bought them, so I think it should be fairly straightforward. If you were trying to import from the plugin options, perhaps try the following example:
Place the “NEON BLACK EXP PACK” folder in the following location:

* Mac: /Library/Application Support/BABY Audio/Presets/BA-1
* PC: C:\ProgramData\BABY Audio\presets\BA-1

Restart your DAW and the Expansion Pack will now appear in BA-1’s preset dropdown.

I installed a pack a few weeks ago and it worked exactly as expected. You just open the patch browser, click the IMPORT button (next to the "Packs" heading), then find the pack on your drive (.zbaby extension) and open it. It really couldn't be easier.

I love BA-1!

Reviving this thread with a quick message to all BA-1 owners: We've just released a new expansion pack which is free until December 25th. Go grab it, it's cool! :)

https://babyaud.io/ba1-expansion-packs

"Recreate the futuristic electro sounds of Germany's synth pioneers in BA-1. Carefully crafted by sound design icon Francis Preve, these 65 presets give you everything from minimal drum sounds to plucks, pads, basses, and leads. Ignite your tracks with a touch of postmodern Cold War era synth soul – and push BA-1's virtual analog circuits to their maximum.

Use it for: Minimal and vintage synth/percussion sounds inspired by the pioneers of electronic music."

Now this is cool. I love the vibe of this pack. Thanks for sharing for free. I love the BA-1. I think it's got it's own unique character.

I love you. Erm ... I mean thanks. :)
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Not much I like in this pack but when I went to grab it I saw that they have an Industrial pack and that thing is f**king epic! It's absolutely ridiculous how HUGE some of the sounds in it are. Well worth Au$13.

Sorry I meant to write only one envelope. Don’t know why I wrote filter. Wondering if I’m right, looking at screenshots or am I missing something? Rare to have 2 oscs but not separate envelopes for amp and filter.

Post

Ah! Yes, only 1 envelope. I can understand keeping things simple but a basic AD envelope, assignable to filter and pitch, would be a nice addition.

It's like that because the synth they modelled it after was like that. Works fine for me.
