Acoustica premium 7.7 VST3 problems

Hi,
on Windows 64bit and MACOS Sequoia as well Acon Acoustica 7.7.3 cannot import about 20 (!) VST3 plugins that used to work on the previous release. I hope they fix that soon, major showstopper. All these plugins work without problem in Adobe and Steinberg products as the used to.

Yeah, it's so many plugins on my end, the release feels a little rushed. It's not like they're from small developers.

Thanks for reporting! The issue is strange, since the executable that validates plug-ins is exactly the same as in version 7.5. I did try to reproduce the issue with some of the mentioned plug-ins, but e.g. Eventide plug-ins validates without problems. There was a problem with plug-in scanning when initiated from the Acoustica ARA plug-in version 7.7.1 that we have fixed in 7.7.3, but I assume that you did the scanning in the stand-alone version? Also, did you click the "Rescan all" button?
Best,
Stian

Same VST3 problem here in Acoustica Premium Edition 7.7.3 (not any different from the result of version 7.7.1).
After an update from 7.5.5 to 7.7.3 i used "Rescan all" after "Scan for changes", in the standalone version of Acoustica on Windows 10 Pro (22H2), but the results were the same with both scans.
These plugins show errors while they scan without problems in Acoustica 7.5.5:
Audio Damage:
Dubstation 2, Eos 2, Other Desert Cities, Panstation 2
Cytomic:
The Drop
GForce Software:
impOSCar3, M-Tron Pro IV, Oberheim DMX, Oberheim OB-1, Oberheim OB-X, Oddity3, VSM IV
Leapwing Audio:
CenterOne, StageOne 2
Minimal Audio:
Cluster Delay, Flex Chorus, Fuse Compressor, Hybrid Filter, Morph EQ, Rift, Rift Feedback Lite, Rift Filter Lite, Ripple Phaser, Squash, Swarm Reverb
Polyverse Music:
Filterverse
Sonic Academy:
KICK 3
SPC Plugins:
ArcSyn 4 (v4.0.4 beta - 1st December 2024)
Steinberg:
WaveLab Pro 12
TAL Software:
TAL-Drum, TAL-J-8, TAL-Sampler, TAL-U-NO-LX
Tritik:
Flaw, Irid, Krush, Moodal
W.A. Production:
InstaChord 2, InstaComposer 2, InstaScale
The only plugin that shows an error on both 7.5.5 and 7.7.3 (and all older versions of Acoustica i can remember) is Phonec2 from Psychic Modulation.
It's a VST2 instrument that hasn't been updated to VST3 yet. It's one of the two VST2 plugins i have installed, all others are VST3.
Looking at the t.o.t.s. list above, i'm surprised to see Devious Machines PitchMonster on it. PitchMonster 1.3.13 doesn't give me any problem scanning it.
I'm going back to Acoustica PE 7.5.5 for now until the scanning issue is resolved.

Thank you very much for your thorough reports. That's very helpful, and we believe that we have fixed the issue. Please download and install if version 7.7.5 using the links below. We'll link this as the latest official version after some additional testing.

Just tried it out.
Everything scanned this time except for Press Play Music Wavebreaker (their other plugin Wave Observer scanned OK)
Two plugins had exceptional scan times 2 plus minutes):
Plugin Alliance bx_Limiter True Peak
Youlean Loudness Meter Pro
Thanks for the update!

I just upgraded from Acoustica PE 7.5.5 to 7.7.5 and got no errors when I used "Scan for changes". When I use "Rescan all" I only got an error from Psychic Modulation Phonec2 VST2 (Phonec_2_x64.dll) which I also get on 7.5.5 and older versions of Acoustica. It's an instrument so it's not a problem.
The only plugin that behaves a bit strange is u-he Filterscape. When I use "Rescan all" it ends up in the red list "Deactivated (failed to validate)", but when I manually remove it from that list and then use "Scan for changes" it scans fine. Maybe something to look into.
From my side you can consider the VST3 scanning issue solved. Thank you Stian!

Question! How did you manually remove it from the list in the plugin manager? I don't see that option...

Mouse click on the specific plugin on the Plug-in Manager screen and press the Del (Delete) button on your keyboard.t.o.t.s. wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 4:51 pm "I manually remove it from that list and then use "Scan for changes" it scans fine."

You can also select all red (deactivated items) items by selecting the top plugin and while holding down the Shift button on your keyboard select the bottom plugin. When they all have the orange (selected) background you can delete them all at once and then use "Scan for changes".

So obvious! (smacks head). I was looking for modifier clicks or context menus. lol. Didn't even bother trying to hit delete! Thank you!

Yes, probably so obvious that you wouldn't expect it.t.o.t.s. wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 7:55 pm So obvious! (smacks head). I was looking for modifier clicks or context menus. lol. Didn't even bother trying to hit delete! Thank you!
Fortunately, some things in life are still simple.
