great for pro tools users. Not so much for users like beat producers, EDM, DnB, so on......really tough to get into it because the piano roll is non existent. No file browser is rough as well. I could look past a lot of things, but the lack of proper piano roll, and no file browser make it really tough for producers who write music. If you are an engineer, this is heaven for you as it sounds great and makes a lot of sense with good ease of use functionality

Just noticed that LUNA Pro Bundle is down to $99 at Sweetwater and JRRshop.
That's low enough that I don't care about possible plugin-overlap with future UAD purchases. In my case I already have a Spark subscription, so I only care about the LUNA extensions.

The name of Universal Audio's game seems to be in buying overlap. There are no discounts for a bundle in owning any products contained in that bundle. And that's annoying.

Considering getting Luna Pro for $99 for mixing & mastering. On the other hand, Studio One 7 Pro crossgrade is also $91 on best service.
A little confused which one to get

I agree it needs a better piano roll. The updates keep coming, another one released just yesterday, so who knows what is coming down the pipeline. For now the $99 offer on the pro version is tempting.vertibration wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2024 6:00 am great for pro tools users. Hey, they are heading in the right direction. That tab they added looks nice, and a file browser could be added to that tab perfectly. Piano roll is a must have. In its current state, it is absolutely unusable. It makes midi painful, and I hope they address this. Reminds me of Logics piano roll in that you dont know where the hell you are in regard to notes because nothing is labeled except octave C's.lotus2035 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 4:57 pmI agree it needs a better piano roll. You can let Logic show the note names in each midi event in the piano roll.vertibration wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 7:56 pm Reminds me of Logics piano roll in that you dont know where the hell you are in regard to notes because nothing is labeled except octave C's.
There's an option to choose.

Even with a decent piano roll I would find it a bit sluggish right now, it's like there's a slight micro delay whenever you click on things.vertibration wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 7:56 pm In its current state, it is absolutely unusable. It makes midi painful, and I hope they address this.

I'm on the Mac version but perfectly happy with the MIDI it has, it records what I play, if I need to fix a note it's easily done with the inline MIDI editor, I don't need much more than that from the MIDI except ultimately some MPE support. Also it's one of the only hosts that supports Auv3 plugins apart from Logic and Live (although it has the same problem as Live that it doesn't let you resize them, only Logic seems to properly support Auv3).
For me the main problem is it takes a while to navigate the browser to find the plugins I need. It could be better organised.
