Hi everyone,

We're excited to announce the release of Perfect Room 2: https://www.deniseaudio.com/plugins/perfect-room-2

Perfect Room 2 is a transparent reverb plugin built to extend the ambience of any sound without adding coloration.

A reimagined sequel to one of our most popular plugins, Perfect Room 2 expands on the original with enhanced sound quality, expanded creative flexibility and a major redesign.

There's much more info on the product page, so we'll just leave you with an image and the official tutorial video here. We're excited to hear what you think and would love your feedback!

Hi there, if you're an owner of Perfect Room 1, you should have received an email with a unique upgrade code. If for whatever reason you didn't receive it, please reach out to support@deniseaudio.com and the team will make sure you can upgrade.

The upgrade offer is available to PR1 owners for $25.

Thanks!

I’m so sorry, I simply missed it. But it’s there indeed. Thank you very much. :tu:

The answer may help anybody else though.

Can we change the color? My eyes find the current color a bit rough.

I'm sure it sounds good, like V1, but I'm bewildered by this user interface color scheme. I thought I had highlighted it with my mouse and kept trying to deselect it. Please reconsider the design because I wouldn't purchase the plugin looking like this. Take a look at ValhallaDSP's interfaces for inspiration on how to do a clean, readable, vector based UI.

EDIT: Is it possible this is a color management issue? Maybe the image has the wrong color profile embedded? Was the original intent to have so little contrast without any true blacks?

The original UIs of all the denise plugins were beautiful, little bits of art. These new ones are ugly and soulless IMO. Kind of weird to buy the business and then throw out one of its great strengths.

It's not possible to make a definite call on something so subjective. It's an opinion, not a fact. There is a fact however, that the new owners think the new design is better. YMWV

True, it is subjective. But well, they upgraded so they would be the ones who think that. Those who don't probably didn't upgrade.

Thanks for the comments! We shared the below on another forum, but thought it was worth also sharing here so there's some insights on what we've changed in Perfect Room 2 and our design philosophy.

First, GUI aesthetics:
This will always be a matter of taste, of course, however the new designs tend to be preferred by the majority of users we're in contact with. The new designs are much faster in display performance, offer higher resolution, are freely resizable, free of submenus, and -potentially- prettier. But that last point will be up to each individual to determine for themselves :) On our team, everyone prefers the new look, and as creators of software that's what matters - to do something we're proud of putting out into the world.

Also, to those who are interested, here's what's new in V2:

- Zero latency processing (unlike v1)

- Core reverb engine re-design with higher fidelity and sound quality improvements

- Improved CPU performance and a new ECO mode for even lower usage (at the expense of latency)

- Reverb engine now updates in realtime with parameter changes

- Continuous decay and frequency profile (was stepped in v1)

- 5 band EQ for detailed frequency shaping

- Tempo sync for length, pre-delay and attack

- New attack parameter to control reverb onset

- New Halo feature to elongate the reverb tail in higher or lower frequency areas

- Improved pitch modulation with perfectly random variations for a more organic response

And eye searingly ugly. But seriously I think you're confusing workflow with appearance. Two different subjects.

I can't comment on the workflow because that pink/purple color actually hurts my eyes just looking at the screenshot. I'm not going to even try something that is so visually unpleasant let alone buy it....

All you would need is a color adjustment feature that would allow everyone to choose a color that suites their eyes and personal taste.

Synth 1 had the feature nearly 20 years ago and many new plugins have it as well.

The new GUI looks better although the old one wasn’t bad and had some benefits like typing in values and more control over ducking. Does it still have the shimmer algo, or perhaps it’s replaced by Halo?

Not sure about the color theme though, and it might be challenging for some when everything has similar colors/low contrast. Is it possible to at change the color or customize the theme?

Congratulations to the new release! Going to play with it tomorrow.

it's pretty nice (after a quick look). going to dive in deep later this week, but seems like a keeper.
