UAD Luna solely for mixing & mastering?

It's all the buzz words. Before you even do anything, everything sounds glued, harsh frequencies are smoothed, and transients are softened.

It’s basically cheap Pro Tools. So if you want Pro Tools but not happy with their pricing etc, this is the closest alternative. Same key commands, same aesthetics etc. Sound / summing is a bonus. Sorry, I was meaning more specifically, is the summing any good.
I have come to love mixing in Bitwig, and can't see using Luna except if I maybe wanted to be a masochist and add a step to bounce down to stems to take advantage of the summing.
Also, I am lucky enough to have Wavelab for mastering, post any 'stem' mixing.
(Bitwigs grouping is so good that I feel like I bet to a stems mixing type situation anyway...)

Nah, not in the slightest - key-commands are usually user-definable, so that's basically irrelevant... both GUIs are widely different and functionality/feature-wise they are worlds apart.

That's a matter of taste... it certainly ads hints of lemon-fruits and cedar - in the finish there's well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity.
What's your preferred summing so far?

Luna is more than just another pro tools, it is a whole environment with additions happening, the creators themselves are passionate, and the analog feel is unique to it...

I’m not sure they’re worlds apart. GUI is very similar, but Luna is more forward thinking, more 21 century (probably it’s showing what PT should or could have been, so Luna to PT is like Betwig to Abletob). Other DAWs (like Reaper with PT key commands and themes) are not even in the same ballpark and have not been developed for the same purpose, whereas Luna Apollo combo is direct competitor to PT HD systems.
If you mix ITB, Luna summing is really very good. Like above said, if you know what you are doing it does give an extra, hm, maybe not 20% but 16%. But it’s not a creative DAW (not to say you can’t be creative in it). It simulates mixing desk workflow and facilitates traditional recording, just like PT. What I am saying is you probably still need your Ableton or Fl studio or whatever solution if you are sequencing ITB, but it’s the same with PT.

Agreed. Definitely not worlds apart. It's designed for Pro Tools users first (to my chagrin) and many have switched. Plus, if someone is only using it for mixing, it isn't worlds apart from anything.

You probably don't need Ableton or Fl. It's a strange world when you probably need those to sequence.
