Long time user of Valhalla DSP plug-ins here. Mentioned this bug already to Valhalla DSP without response. Before I sent a support request again I want to make sure it's not just my setup. So I ask you kindly to check with your setup how Valhalla DSP's plug-ins behave while being automated or controlled via a MIDI controller.

Win 10 64 bit, Live 12 (w Push 3 controller), Reaper 7. Valhalla DSP: Delay, UberMod, Supermassive, Spacemodulator, VintageVerb.

The issue I have is with automating (Live and Reaper), controlling Valhalla DSP plug-ins with Push 3 (Live), using the plug-ins within a macro-mapped rack (Live).

Here we go :borg:

Take a closer look at the "ms" values shown in Reaper and later how the "Modes" behave

Macro assignment is way off and buggy (never experienced that with any other VST)

Similar automation issues in Live (take a closer look at the "ms" values)

Compare how Sandman Pro (Mode parameter) behaves versus ValhallaDSP Delay

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Yep. Same here on my system (M1 Pro / MacOs 14.7.2 / Ableton live 12.0.25).
It's only with vst3 instances and it's the same issues with the Sonimus plugins.

It's no unusable, but it's a pain...

Thank you for your feedback. Good that you mention that this is an issue with the vst3 version. This might be a reason why I never stumbled over this before. I just recently got rid of all of my vst2 plugins. Well, I'll contact the support again.

Right after FreqEcho was first released I used it all the time for all types of things. I seem to recall that one of the reasons I began to use it less was that it started acting funny when I automated the delay time and it had issues recalling settings when I had used automation. This was on Windows but I noticed it just after an update. It could have been the update to vst3 but it was years ago. I guess this isn't very useful info but I have had bugs with automation and VDSP plugins.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.
