Sooooo, which synth released this year gets your vote for the highly coveted KVR Hardware Subforum Nerds’ Synth of the Year 2024?

PWM Mantis. It's Chris Hugget's last magnificent gift to synthnerds, it's an OSCar on steroids, it screams like a real bastard instead of a virtual bastard, it's green and black just like the synonymous chocolate.

Elmyra2 was last year, and I dont have a Scrooge yet. 4ms Metamodule maybe.
And though its out of my budget, I do like the idea of the Erica Synths Steampipe (which seems to have been completely ignored at KVR so far.)

That’s a pretty interesting one. I recall it being announced, but didn’t realize it was actually released. ES needs to up their marketing game, I guesswhyterabbyt wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 9:52 am And though its out of my budget, I do like the idea of the Erica Synths Steampipe (which seems to have been completely ignored at KVR so far.)

Hmm, had a look and although the release data was supposed to have been this month, it looks like it has now slipped to January....

I didn't buy anything that came out this year, but I'll vote for the PolyBrute 12 because I have the 6. I was going to upgrade, but the idea of dealing with selling the 6 just seemed like something I didn't want to deal with. Good thing, as we just shipped our game and I got a ship bonus... and laid off!

Naw, it can be whatever - something you own, something you want to own, modular/semi-modular. No one's policing our little synthnerd thread. It's all good as long as it was made available to buy in 2024.vurt wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:03 pm if it has to be a complete synth, that came out this year, that we own...

Elm...
Eurorack modules that aren't full synth voices probably shouldn't count, so I guess I will give my vote to Decadebridge Sn. It's tiny and limited in scope but makes all kinds of great FM drones, and I basically live and breathe FM drones.
oh.

I still haven’t clicked on a video.
I hope it sounds terrible!
