In the menu that says file next to the magnifying glass,it says view size

I just happened to notice that the Massive 1.7 looks worse than previous version either in original scale, or scaled up according to Win 10 scale (150%) when run as bridged VST in Reaper 5.99 :(
I loved how knobs were so round in Massive 1.6
Oh shoot

MassiveX 1.4.4 loaded for me (Win 11, 7950x) in 0.1 seconds. 1.4.5 takes 3 hours, 2 minutes and 37 seconds. NI have ruined my life. I have checked myself into a psychiatric hospital. The social worker is helping me to downgrade to 1.4.4, but they are waiting for the meds to start working before we take that step. Wish me well. My lawyer says I have a good case. We'll see.

JK - I see no difference in the update load time. But I might look into the psych hospital anyway.

Can someone explain why the Massive X update is almost a gigabyte in file size? Is it because it's reinstalling the entire plugin again or something? Honestly I don't understand why a wavetable VST is even so large to begin with.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Not sure what all it’s reinstalling but the final size is 1.27 gigs which is about the same as it always was. Most of that is wavetables-the wavetable folder is 746 mb and contains about 180 wavetables

Okay, thanks for the info. I ended up installing the update.

Not to be a grinch, but I cannot believe some of the shortcomings that still persist in this glorious sounding synth. These would be my requests -

1) User folders in presets menu
2) Initialize preset menu option (we shouldn't have to search the menu system for something as simple as this)
3) Double-clicking presets shouldn't close the menu out. This drives me absolutely mad. Just let me scan through presets without having to go back to the menu over and over again
4) Master volume control needs an option to be able to see some kind of a numerical value. I have no idea why anyone would want to leave this out.

Also thank you, that drove me crazy too, nice to have a workaround.

Your lawyer is just blowing smoke up your arse to fatten his fee ..

When you check yourself into the hospital, after you have had it approved by your health care provider, they will tell you that it is a pre-existing condition that was merely exasabated by the latest release of Massive X,so there are no deductibles....

You're on the hook for the full whack there buddy...

You might have better luck suing NI,but that might be a little tricky as well, because private equity companies are not known for their overt generosity

You'll need to run that by your insurer, and they'll determine how necessary treatment is.

This shouldn't even be a thing. I don't know why NI persists with this annoying design. One click to open a preset should be enough.

And the change shouldn't be too complicated, from the software point of view :dog:

They just don't realize that it's theirs long-term flagship asset, not a bazilion-third sample library.
It already sounds amazing, just make it as usable as OG Massive (or at least more usable), COME ON :borg:
