In the current GUI it's very easy to tell what operator is active to be edited as it's clearly displayed in the upper right window which is where you edit thingsdavidv@plogue wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:10 pmThat was just a mockup to see if we were talking about the same thingmuki wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2024 7:05 pm as for me: yes

In this case it's Operator 2 and it's early labeled. You can clearly see where operator 2 is in the Algorithm tree as again it's clearly labeled
Not to mention in every DX7 algorithm Operator 2 is always the top left operator if you have a stack of two operators on the far left of the tree
As a long term DX7 userr and user of your plugin since the day of its release, please do not change it or if you do make it optional to highlight it like in your mock up

I would kindly request an optimization for the randomizer. Without the option to exclude or lock parameters, it becomes difficult to use effectively and is hardly usable. Thank you.

True to an extent, but it's also easy to forget the context of the currently selected operator if you're switching from other tabs to the main as you always have to decode where your operator is in the algo to give better overview of where in the algo an operator is. By having a selection hint, you would just look at the highlight color to better understand what you're editing.IvyBirds wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:49 pm In the current GUI it's very easy to tell what operator is active
I consider this only a quality of life improvement, it's not show stopper, it's not unintuitive as it is now, it's just something that popped on my mind while editing extensively as something worth at least thinking about.

Just use sine waves and keep it OGmuki wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:30 am+1gentleclockdivider wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:16 pm Can we please have the option to select the alternative waveforms with the mouse wheel ,
Actually using the mouse wheel like that would be cool

yeah fm purism ," sine waves only " and that's what I do most of the time . but you're missing when not using some of sine variants .IvyBirds wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:43 amJust use sine waves and keep it OGmuki wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:30 am+1gentleclockdivider wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:16 pm Can we please have the option to select the alternative waveforms with the mouse wheel ,
I also have a tg77 and it's great to remake the patches on ops7 (whenever possible )

My wish from Santa Claus: Being able to hear the changes in realtime when moving the level knob while pressing a midikey
As it is now, it updates on note on.

I actually think it would be cool to use the mouse scroll wheel to select non DX7 style waveformsgentleclockdivider wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 12:03 pmyeah fm purism ," sine waves only " and that's what I do most of the time . but you're missing when not using some of sine variants .IvyBirds wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:43 amJust use sine waves and keep it OGmuki wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:30 am+1gentleclockdivider wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 11:16 pm Can we please have the option to select the alternative waveforms with the mouse wheel ,

But 99% of the time I just use sine waves with OPS7 as for me it's replacing DX7 and TX816 hardware
I am really looking forward to Sway for SY/TG77 FM goodness as that replaces more hardware for me, and the upcoming TX81Z plugin from Plogue for the same reason
My dream is for both Sway and the TX81Z emulation from Plogue to come out in 2025

For the way I use synths I'd love that. Just assign levels to some faders and either let the synth drone or have a sequence going. Or at least, use an expression pedal or something to tweak levels...Charlie Firpo wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 12:55 pm My wish from Santa Claus: Being able to hear the changes in realtime when moving the level knob while pressing a midikeyAs it is now, it updates on note on.

If you have a sequence going do exactly that and use quarter or 8th notes and follow Plogue with a big reverbfoosnark wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 3:49 amFor the way I use synths I'd love that. The timbre will change with every new note and the reverb tail will gradually shift as well
I do exactly this wilth Harmony Bloom triggering the midi for the notes
Even better use Voltage Modular or VCV Rack and host OPS7 as a "module" then use slow LFOs to move the levels using attenuation to keep them within a set range
For generative things it's amazing
