What’s the oldest VSTi you still use today ?

They are my favourite comics together with Lucky Luke and Asterix. Back in 1978 I bought almost all of their series and spent the 20 years later keep reading them! I lost all of them when I moved to another country though.

Ah... Tintin et Milou (et Capitaine Haddock et Professeur Tournesol), Astérix et Obélix (et Idéfix), Lucky Luke et Jolly Jumper (et les Dalton)... and Spirou et Fantasio (et le Marsupilami)... and then Gaston Lagaffe et 'Moiselle Jeanne (et Prunelle et Fantasio et De Mesmaeker et Longtarin...)!

So many good old French and Belgian comics !

My journey started with the Max and the first MSP version. But that isn‘t a VSTi. I got into DAW based virtual instruments with Bitwig 1.0. I got it with a keyboard and there was also bundled Arturias Mini V.
I guess the oldest VSTs I own are part of the old CM collection…

Going by what plugins I've had on every previous system and OS version, I'd have to go with the Korg Legacy Collection. The one after that I've bought/sold/rebought for multiple systems/OSs is the AAS Collection.
Wouldn't consider either old as they're both current. But by personal history, can't think of anything else with as long of a run really.
If you mean those reaching EOL, Alchemy 1 is still on my current boxes and still used. As well as Garritan/Aria, although used much less and more as a keyboard orchestrator than an actual orchestra. I have other things on my systems that are officially EOL that I don't really use and will not be on any future system. Is this where I list everything?

One of the older ones for me is Absynth 5. In almost daily use.

I'd say that's OG Massive and Dune 2. Even though Massive is almost 10 years older than Dune 2, it's got a zoom setting recently. I wish Dune 2 also got some love, but I think won't ever happen, as Dune 3 is a superset of 2.
But I love Dune 2 as a simpler version of 3

Sorry if this is OT, but i went to purchase the bundle today and not only is the sale over but he has left a message stating that all sales will stop from 01.01.2025, sadly.
Wondering if you knew anything about it, i guess VST3 development is out of the window ?

Must be PPG Wave 2.V.
I bought it when it was released by Steinberg (!) and was the first VSTi I bought. With Cubase, guess some early LE version, as it needed a host to run in. Still using it, not in exactly the same form, but as the updated version in Waldorf Edition 2.
