In 2025 Hope springs eternal, I mean Jon did recently say the following
I mean he has said for years that they were working on new things and assured us that new things were coming, and now at least admits that new instruments have not been the focus despite the empty promisesJon at Roland wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 5:57 pm Focus has shifted back to creating instruments and other plug-ins
So maybe 2025 will be different? Now that the focus is back to creating instruments
I think if you look at the hardware cycle of Roland, we had the Jupiter 50/80 in 2011 which used Supernatural Synth technology to emulate the Jupiter 8
Then we got ACB to do that with the System 8, five years later in 2016 with yet another Jupiter 8 emulation which also introduced software versions
Then we got Zenology and Zencore, four years later in 2020 that enabled Roland to make yet another Jupiter 8 emulation in both hardware and software
So looking at that product cycle it will be five years since the Zen Core Roland hardware came out and 9 years since we got the ACB versions
Those things have to had run it's course for Roland hardware sales, which means in 2025 how could we not see, some new system that will enable Roland to sell yet another Jupiter 8 emulation? Based on a new chip set that is not BMC based which means we will get a fresh round of plugins but they will once again be yet another Jupiter 8, yet another Juno, yet another 303 etc
If I had to guess the new hardware will also include emulations of Roland/Boss effects like the Space Echo, Dimension D and various Roland/Boss Reverb and delays
That way they can sell those as new Boss pedals and as separate plugins. These are the "other plugins" Jon is talking about

This is the plan, Echoes! As I mentioned, our team is balancing working on some new releases as well so focus has shifted some, but it is our intention to continue these updates. I will check in about the progress of this for you. I've seen this request more and more recently so you're not alone! We had some releases planned for this year that were pushed back to next year so the schedule has been altered some. Appreciate your patience on this I would like for all the plug-ins to have the updated browser and GUI.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:28 am Hey Jon, are the other legendary synths receiving the same browser updates as the Jupiter-4/8 and Juno-106? It's been a while, I thought you guys would have done the other as well?

But you have said for years now that your team has been working on "tons" of new things so how has any focus shifted?Jon at Roland wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 6:22 pm

Enter Earth Piano.IvyBirds wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 5:18 amDon't worry Jon said there is Tons of Stuff coming THIS yearN 4 LIFE wrote: Tue Dec 24, 2024 2:49 am Well I just logged into RCM and there was absolutely nothing new to get. Earth piano sounded like poop and I deleted that months ago. Oh well happy holidays everyone.

Don't bother, people. This is Roland being Roland. Look at their past and history. They ALWAYS behaved like this. Our (at least my) bad to having trust them this time (again). I just hope they don't "kill" my "for Life" licenses sometime in the future.

We now have only a few days left of this year. Personally I look forward to jp80xx and V synth.

Forget it. When was the last time Roland launched something outside of Zenology? The best you can hope is another skinned sample set for Zenology, disguised as a "module".EfreetiSultan wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2024 5:52 pm We now have only a few days left of this year. They have released lots of bug fixes and changes for the RCM Authorization App from 2017-2024 and I am sure that we will see the same amount of updates/fixes that we had this year for that app in 2025ozinga wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2024 5:32 pm No bug fixes, no improvements, no new instruments.. I wonder where the so called focus has shifted. Earth Piano?
And who knows. Maybe we will get a serie of Single Earth Plugins since they still have a lot of Categories to choose from.

The also have the option to remove more plugins that people purchased outright. Get them while you can.

I would put the SRX expansions and the JV1080 and XV5080 into that campAloysius wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2024 10:24 pm The also have the option to remove more plugins that people purchased outright. Get them while you can.
I have no doubt that eventually they will be dropped in favor of Zenology skinned versions or whatever is replacing that
