I did upgrade for that low (and reason-able :hihi: ) price.

It is true that Reason inspires ideas like no other DAWs for me.
I had graphic issues with all u-he plugins and that’s why I stopped using it.
v13 has no such problems.

The Repley is surprisingly enjoyable and so the Polytone.

One wish for the Tabs: a modifier key to just click on one Tab and close the other ones.
Better workflow for a laptop.

Overall it may end-up to be the new center of my music production.

And I forgot; those MIDI Players are the cherry on the cake!

For me, mixing in Reaper doesn't have any benefits over Reason, and I like to mix on the emulated SSL-desk in Reason :D
I think I will try the big mixer but maybe as a final stage for mixing. I will ignore it in the composition stage. Maybe this is a good workflow.

I fully agree :tu:

I don't think it will make me sell my Live's and Cubase's licenses! But there is a possibility that Reason is all I need 8)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Augh! I paid $119 for the R13 upgrade a few weeks ago, and now the price has dropped another $40.

Post

I upgrade if the price is around 60 Dollars, don't forget they doubled prices suddenly short time ago. A couple of new devices nobody asked for, a browser upgrade without any groundbreaking features and some sequencer re-arrangements (without any new functionality - except "make ramp" or cutting clips what was easy to do before btw)....

In my opinion has R13 only a half upgrade value, if at all.

So lets calculate in old prices, we are not in EU-Euro currency change times where prices doubled over night:

50 Dollars + 10 % inflation & their internal company changes = 60 Dollars

This is the value for the update in my honest opinon. Around 60 Dollars.

You forgot the five new tools

...random and note add a lot to Reason in conjunction with the other players IMO
The sequencer may not have had anything revolutionary added, but its far batter than it was, as is the browser...these may not be sexy but they were really needed!

The delay FX is also very good, I use it on everything; I have seen delay fx this powerful sell for more than 70 bucks plenty of times. -I am also not bothered about Polytone (although I can see it improving wuithg more modulation in a 1.1 update...) but its a good VA if you are staying in the rack (not using VSTs) and works with CV/players very nicely.

All in all- worth 70 bucks IMO.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

As are the new split/chop tools in 13.1.
These kind of workflow improvements, together with the sequencer split view, do so much more for me than any Polytone.

13.1 was indeed a timely and very welcome update, I am excited to see what 13.2 brings now as it seems they have a good foundation for further small DAW improvements. Ultimately they still have to tackle the bigger things like MPE, maybe some sort of MPE Player before the instruments (and the under the hood changes to the actual instrument themselves) and th4r DAW changes for editing- Object/Friktion etc seem made for this...I realise MPE isn't for everyone, but with the RRP as well it would suddenly add a lot of depth to many instruments.

Split/chop unfortunately doesn't work (yet?) on midi clips (The clip splits but not the notes).

I gave in too - I just hope they don't see that as any kind of encouragement in regards to Mattias ever having done anything even just halfway right - heck, I'd gladly pay twice of what I paid now just to be allowed to cast my vote to kick him out (and keep him out of any other audiogear-related company in Sweden and anywhere else). :bang:

Do you mean using the splip/chop tool on his contract? :x

No, the new burn tool which they secretly implemented behind his back (cause that's the only way to get anything reasonable done in the first place).

Rumours are they're also working on a powerful new slap-tool as we speak and are looking for beta-testers to try it on him (requires a remote-connection) - first new Props hardware since Balance.
