The Softube Modular integration would be an incredible value-add if using Softube modular didn't feel like paying someone to kick me in the balls.

The workflow is just so clumsy and bad I never fire it up anymore. They really ought to "borrow" the ergonomics of VCV Rack, including easy polyphony, drag and drop, better browsing or try to license VCV code. Heck, isn't it open source? They could probably build their own Softube only version using the VCV codebase. But I digress.

Better still just make all the softube modules work in VCV Rack- they are fighting a modular host battle they cant win...

I'm not sure how that would work with their choice of DRM. But if it could work, then yeah, absolutely! That's why I was tuning a Softube fork of VCV might be more feasible.

What's the hourly rate for that? I got laid off last week (thanks for finishing the game! You're fired!) and I'm thinking of changing careers. I think with some practice I could be pretty good at ball kicking.

Yeah, I agree 100% on that, but what I've done to get my money's worth is to treat Softube Modular like a library of fixed-ish instruments, with each patch being an instrument. So, I'll find a patch I like, and then make presets off that patch. So if I like a patch called, "BigBass," I'll start making presets off it with names like, "BigBass_HarshLead." Sometimes I'll add some modulation or switch out a filter or something, but making a patch from scratch? No, for exactly the reasons you describe. Not worth it.

It would be awesome if they borrowed VCV's UX, or even it's codebase. Or just scrap Modular and port all the Softube Modules to VCV and give you a code to get them in VCV. I won't hold my breath, though. I do put up with it because the sound is great. I was able to sell my Dominion 1 by mimicking many of my favorite custom presents to a degree where the difference was negligible. I loved the Dominion 1, but it was so deep it was forcing my computer monitors to have to be too far back on my desk.

Looks like Xils took the latest teaser down about 15 minutes after sharing it. The preview image must have been cached on KVR so it worked for a little while even after they'd taken the video down, so I grabbed a screenshot and attached it here. There was zero useful information in the video, just lots of 3D renderings and marketing babble, but you can see one major change obviously which seems pretty cool, they added a third layer.

I wonder if XILS will finally deliver to us a Minimoog emu. They've been just about as rare as CS-80s.

Still waiting on the first good CS80.

Yamaha stopped making them a long time ago, so don’t hold your breath.
