TDR is the most no-hassle, well thought and technologically rich plugins. I don’t know, it’s just extremely comfortable to work with. Loads fast, always sounds very gentle to the source. Even knobs on interface are moving like they were thoughtfully tuned for maximum comfort and impact :)

I read the notes of one developer on Russian social networks and am surprised at how attentive these people are to details and how good they are at what they do.

So, if you get tired of choosing among hundreds of plugins and don't want to experiment, you can just be sure that these plugins will do all the work musically and with the highest possible quality.

Love these guys, and I’m especially thankful for them for keeping prices adequate for most people on planet. Only developers who are confident that their products do not depend on hype and will always be in demand can afford such price policy.

If you asked me to name my top 3 audio software companies for quality, responsiveness to feedback and pricing - TDR would easily be in that top 3. My other 2 would probably be Cockos (Reaper) and ToneBoosters.

I agree about the first two, but lately, I have been a bit leaving Toneboosters; their recent updates broke Linux / Wine compatibility, and their latest products, albeit awesome, are not going in a direction I like. I would have preferred more love and enhancements for the existing plugins (DualVCF, BitJuggler, to mention two) besides the new ones.

U-he and Arturia are also great on quality/price ratio and support for me.

EDIT: Also, Soundpaint is becoming a thing for me :)

You arguably don’t need any other mixing plugins besides TDR. The filters bundle is incredibly useful. If I could do it again, I would get the TDR plugins and be very cautious about adding additional plugins.

Have thought the same. Brilliant company.

The Special Filters are incredible.

Also one can close or open the frequency display of EQ's completely. Try it sometimes, close it and EQ. Now open it. Would you have done these curves with display being open?

For me TDR Plugins are among the best ones out there. Incredible developers, fair prices and super quick updates.

No Slick EQ M doesn't have the various EQ models of Slick EQ GE
2. Yes Slick EQ can do the pultec trick, it is even in their manual (which is absolutely outstanding)

Stereo Image is often in the Mix and also Slick EQ M. But yes it can replace most of the loudness factors. It is excellent, my most used Limiter even before Fabfilter L2.
Kotelnikov GE is absolutely insane. It is incredibly clean.
Yes Molot GE is a different beast than Kotelnikov. A lot more color and can sound a lot more aggressive similar to an 1176.

Nova GE is most my used plugin year after year. All the originals are very good to excellent. The new filters are killer.
What's the intended use(s) for a plug-in like Nova GE ? I ain't very technical-like, and I often see several 'advanced' things (like Soothe/Fabfilter) and wonder if I need them (as opposed to 'stock' effects).

The possibly boring answer is that if you ask like that then you don't need it. If you have certain problems to solve then find the techniques/tools for that.
You decide if this is a stupid/boring answer or a liberating answer.

For one it's my favorite gate for vocals. Wonderful de-esser as well.

Then using it to dynamically drop/duck frequencies surgically or broadly. Smart feature, side chaining or mixers choice. Track to track or on an entire mix.

And it does expansion if needed. I'm sure I'm forgetting other uses.

Thanks, that's useful to know.

Yep one can boost kick sub or such fast with Nova, also can do Downwards compression&expansion and Upwards expansion&compression on selected areas. Very, very handy tool and its very fast if needed to be in timings.

I sometimes use it to drop downwards of 100-200hz area from bass when kick hits and up the fundamental/sub with fast attack/release for example.

I forgot it's super fast and easy to set up. I can get results I want in a snap. Couldn't ask for a better workflow or interface.

I picked up Slick EQ GE as a replacement for Tone Projects Michelangelo. Michelangelo is great, but I got tired of not being able to visualize what the curve is doing, and I rarely need the harmonics or transient/body functions. I also like that you can vary the L/R curves in Slick EQ.
