I'm having fun with this. I wonder if a future version could allow one to lock all of the Wave 1 parameters, while being able to use the random button to affect just the Wave 2 parameters. Then also, I wonder if it would be useful to have a slider for the Crossfade Interaction, to adjust the ratio of one to the other (no idea if this could be done). There are of course several preset options under Interaction.
I've only just started using it over the last week or so. There are already so many options, but randomizing right now leads me usually to extreme wave tables. I was thinking I would lock Wave 1 with milder settings, randomize Wave 2, play with the hypothetical crossfade ratio, and repeating that process until I find something I like. This is me just speculating, and I have no idea if it makes any sense, given what you know--and your experience.
Regarding the Play button, I have been toggling it on and then sliding the slider back and forth to hear the wavetable. But is drastically different than how the wavetables sound in Phase plant when I scroll through the waves. I have used the "Out 1-2 (Behringer UMC 204HD 19" Driver setting. Is this functioning this way for everybody (the difference in the sound within Wavetable Creator vs. the sound in Phase Plant)? If so, could it be improved, as quickly and accurately previewing the way a wavetable sounds would help me decide if I'm on to a good one or not.

Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

This is already the case! Notice the little green circle led toggle next to each parameter, when it is off, then hitting random does not affect the corresponding parameter (see also the manual), intended for exactly as you describe.Dirtgrain wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 10:09 pm I'm having fun with this. The idea is you set most parameters on how you like them, keep only specific things that make sense in that particular case on random, and then hit the batch creation to get variations that are under control.

Np! Will look into your other thoughts for sure, not satisfied with the whole playback code myself and wanna re-examine it.

Hi,
If I only want to pick a start wave and an end wave, is there any way to have the software spread those 2 shapes across the whole wavetable, ignoring the 3 intermediate stages?

Well kinda-ish, you can:wintoid wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:52 am Hi,

Option 1 - using both waves and interaction:
- Leave wave 1 on the start that you want so e.g. all shapes on wave 1 on sine.
- Leave wave 2 on the end that you want e.g. all shapes on wave 2 on square.
- Pick the simple crossfade interaction
Option 2 - using one wave with more weight on one side of the fade:
- Put start, early and middle on the first shape e.g. sine
- Put late and end on the second shape e.g. square
This is actually a cool idea for a future update, like to enable/disable steps, will have a think!

That would be great. I found those little lights next to the steps and got excited, but they're for disabling the randomisation.faxinadu wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 7:11 am This is actually a cool idea for a future update, like to enable/disable steps, will have a think!
