My UAD Quad DSP doesn't work with this motherboard. Does anyone know why? And how to solve it?

That is another subject. If you want more replies about that, then better edit the title on the first post.

Your motherboard has three different PCIe slots: 1 PCIe 5.0 x16, 1 PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 PCIe 3.0 x1. Which did you try? What's the exact model of your UAD card? Does the documentation say anything about what type of PCIe it is?

I did ask UAD and they said some problems with Ryzen support for UAD and asked me to contact my motherboard manufacturer.

I connected the card to PCIE gen 3.0x 1 slot.

I would never recommend AMD if I knew you had a UAD-QUAD PCIe.
But I also do not know if it is compatible with the new Intel.
The reason of the problem here and there is a thread all about this here.
Anyway, plug the UAD-QUAD in the first PCIe slot, the one near the CPU.
In the BIOS also try to change the PCIE1 slot from AUTO to GEN3.

I did a bios update and inserted the card in the PCIe slot and it worked!

Question- how do i change PCIe config from auto to PCIe 3.0? I don't see any option in the bios menu.

It is working, no need to change.
Here it is in Advanced>onboard devices configuration>PCIEx16_1 MODE

It doesn't work on PCIe2 gen 3.0 lane though even after bios update.

The PCIe1 is directly connected to the CPU, the others are not.
Since you are using the onboard iGPU, no problem, but if you are
going to use a discrete GPU, you should buy a motherboard with 2
slots directly connected to the CPU like the ASRock Taichi/Taichi Lite.

No, power-hungry GPUs receive power directly from the PSU.


If the GPU's function is just to display an image, there is no performance
issue, but if it is a fast GPU for gaming/3D/AI, the performance can suffer
greatly. On the ASRock X870 Nova, PCIe3 is only GEN3 X2 and you cannot
use it at the same time with the M2_5.
