Hello,

in the online Speedrum 2 manual says:

"Pads MIDI Map (trigger map)

A trigger map controls what MIDI notes trigger which drum pad. Every pad respond to a single MIDI note. For pad to learn a trigger note just left-click on a midi-connector button and all selected pad will be in trigger learn mode. To change the Pad's midi note manually, left-click on the number below the "Active Pad" menu item and enter the desired midi note number."

I'm not figuring out (on Linux) how to have the "Active Pad" menu pop up... where should I click to make it show?

Thanks,
Mario

Wherever you see a menu item that is colored, it is a value that can be changed directly when you click on it.
Right-click on midi button to get the menu
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Ok, I wasn't right-clicking because the cursor over the MIDI icon was not the usual pointer...maybe it's an issue on my environment, I see the icon that shows when panels are resized instead (I'm on Linux, it's a vertical line with horizontal arrow pointing to it).

Now that I see it, as an additional feature, it would be good to be able to enter a note name, like F#4 or c2, instead of a number.

Thanks,
Mario

I think that assigning MIDI notes is one of the least user-friendly parts of Speedrum. At least it ought to be on the pad right-click menu, rather than having to click on the pad and then right-click the MIDI icon and set an 'Active pad'.
Also, it's very difficult to assign a note if two pads are assigned to the same note - I click on one pad and often the highlight jumps to another pad.
And sometimes Speedrum just doesn't remember when I assign a new note to a pad - I'll assign it a MIDI number, press Enter, and when I look at it again it hasn't changed.

Can you tell me on which system and host?

Hi - I'm using Windows 11 Pro, Acoustica Mixcraft Pro Studio 10.5.
I just tried again this morning, and the pads aren't the same as the way I left them yesterday. Some pads trigger multiple sounds now, whereas yesterday each pad had its own discrete MIDI note. Other pads have changed from the notes I assigned them yesterday.
I've had a look at the <TriggerMap> sections of the .speedkit files and they appear to be set up the way I want them.
Thanks

The current trigger map is saved with the project state and loaded with the state. It is also saved with the kit and loaded with the kit if the trigger map loading (TRG in the footer) is enabled in the Browser, otherwise it will not load. So if you have set a specific trigger map and saved it, but later you may have changed something and saved the project, then the next time you load the state, that changed Trigger map will be loaded, and not the one you saved manually. Maybe that's the case?
