I've had my Steinberg UR-RT2 interface & Cubase for some time and have used all the ports for various bus inputs..

Today however I find that although line 3 & 4 show as active within "Audio Devices" in Cubase 13, when I go to "Audio Connections" and "Add Bus" it only gives me a mono or stereo option and stereo option just creates a bus with inputs 1 & 2 and I can't change them.

Additional: I've now checked using Bitwig. That is seeing Line 3 & 4 and I can add a bus using those, so the URT-RT2 is fine, it's Cubase..

Additional 2: I've just found some old Cubase projects with a bus called "Mixer" that used 3&4. When I had a look at that it was showing 3&4 but not connected but I was then able to reconnect them to 3&4.
So I can't understand why I can't create new bus with 3&4? I guess using "Import Tracks from Project" I can get around this, import a track into a new project from an old one that has the line 3&4 inputs.

Any ideas?

A couple of things come to mind:
- some routing options are limited to Cubase Pro
- and not sure Cubase allow hardware inputs to a bus, you cannot record anything anyway, as I recall

So create a track instead, is what I would try.

I ran Pro 9.5 last 2018 so things may have changed.....

thanks, it is Pro. From the old tracks I had this working and it does work with some of the old projects, it's just not allowing me to create new buss using 3&4. So in the short term I'm simply importing tracks that do use 3&4 and reuse them in new projects.

Recreate all your busses?
Delete the preferences and restarts?
Reinstall?
Contact Steinberg support?
Go to the Steinberg forum?
Ask on KVR where no one knows anything and hope for the best?

leras beat me to it. Copy your original post, and post it in the Steinberg forum.

Chances are reasonable that you'll get an answer that solves your issue.

Posting very specific Steinberg software and hardware issues like this in KVR is unlikely to attract a satisfactory answer....even though there are some very well informed Steinberg users here. There are just way more over there...including Steinberg employees.

thanks both. I actually had posted on both the Steinberg forum & the Cubase facebook group. I've had one reply "I don't know" and silence on the other one.

I usually get helpful answers here, often quicker and I'll continue to post questions here in future if I think there is a chance of an answer, thanks.
