Stop CLAP preset discovery in Bitwig possible? (Or equivalent solution?)

I'm using the Hive 2 CLAP in Bitwig 5.2.x on Mac. Working great. Love the polyphonic modulation just-works note expression for pitch and stuff.
One thing is bugging me, though: Bitwig's browser/library list is now chock full of thousands of Hive factory presets.
I rarely want to pick a synth's factory preset directly from this list, which is why I have spent a long time setting up Bitwig's browser to not display presets in as many cases as possible.
But, sometimes, when Bitwig's "insert something" popup appears and I'm trying to add something, I need to hit the tab key on the keyboard to show "Everything" because the default browser filtering for that view doesn't show what I want. And, when I do that, it's just full of Hive factory presets.
Because whatever word I'm searching for, you better believe there's a Hive factory preset with something close to that in its name.
It's not the end of the world… but it's definitely worse for me than before I had the Hive 2 CLAP installed, and was only using the VST3. The Hive factory presets are great, but I really don't want to see them this often or have them fill my search results when I'm trying to insert a plate reverb effect.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? I'd prefer to just have Bitwig be blissfully unaware of Hive's factory presets.

I can't see the point of Bitwig's browser just presenting these presets in a long list either, I would prefer them organised into the banks they are on on the hard drive. Again this is where the old browser worked much better

I think I've already sent this to them as a request in the past, since it also affects their own internal devices and other plugins which have preset discovery. I guess I can try again.

Does CLAP preset discovery allow for getting bank information?

The more people bug Bitwig about the new crap browser the better...

Maybe you saved a wrong view by accident?tumface wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:37 am ...

One quick solution is, before start typing, hit 2 times F1 (the second time just to be sure) then type
Code: Select all
hiveSecond check the "Sort Order". Open the browser and right click on the first entry "Sort Order" -> "by Kind / Name"
Third save your preferred view / state
Open the browser, configure everything how you want to have it when opening the browser --- BUT be careful --- Bitwig stores different views whether you open on an instrument/audio/hybrid track AND if there is already a device or plugin in your track.
I use this workaround mot of the times.

Yes, I've already gone through every context for the browser popup and set them up how I like them. (There are a lot... like 20 or something?) The problem isn't when I want to add an instance of Hive. It's when I want to add something else, and the "Everything" view is overcrowded with factory presets. I know I can choose to use a view that won't show the factory presets, which is what I have the defaults set up to do. When the thing I want doesn't show up even though I've typed part of its name, switching to "Everything" should be the right way to find it, instead of first having to remember what type of thing Bitwig categorizes it as, and then switching to a specific view that shows only that type of thing but not presets, and then have the text filter applied there. Bitwig even has a special prompt and key binding (tab) to switch to "Everything" from your current view.

The new browser is much better than the old one, which was missing lots of stuff.ThomasHelzle wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:16 pm The more people bug Bitwig about the new crap browser the better...

The top 9 quick sources on the left all have key commands. The first is Everything and cannot be moved. All the rest you can change/rearrange so make the second one, Everything minus the presets and use that instead of regular Everything.tumface wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:15 pm Yes, I've already gone through every context for the browser popup and set them up how I like them. I'm still using Bitwig 4 because of the horrible new browser in 5.x
The other new stuff isn't that relevant for my limited use these days anyway.
Biggest f**k-up they ever did in my book.
YMMV.
