Yes, you need to click the search magnifying glass (top right of the browser pane) and then you are browsing the lot.

I´m running Avenger 2.31 just fine on my Mac, Logic Pro X at 44.1 kHz / 32 samples buffer. No CPU spikes in sight. But take that with a grain of salt, as I just upgraded my Mac from an i7 to an M4 Pro.
I just tested my system at 32 and the meter in logic basically stuck at 100% without hitting any keys. Crazy. Are you running on an external monitor? Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your logic audio settings?
Sure, here you are (plus the resulting CPU load - this is in a very full template, not just Avenger).

Cheers, and is the track with avenger on it selected and live? Are you running into an external display?

Yes, track selected, Avenger GUI open. And yes, it´s an external display (as I´m running on a Mac Mini).

FWIW, I had plenty of CPU spikes on my old Mac i7 when I had complex GUIs open (the "GUI open" was the key in my case, not "track selected/live"), with Avenger, DS Tantra and certain Kontakt instruments like Straylight being bad offenders.

Thanks for the info. Are you running into a 4k display?

As far as the spikes, I've tested over 60 soft synths in the past couple of weeks trying to find a common link, and avenger is the only one that does this (CPU spiking to 100% at rest, no preset loaded apart from init. If I play even a single key I get pops and crackles)

No, I´m on a QHD (2560 x 1440) display but I don´t think that this would make a difference.

Do you have an older Intel Mac or an Apple CPU? Are the CPU spikes equally bad when the Avenger GUI is closed?

I'm on an M1 max studio. The spikes aren't as bad when I close the UI, no. I get some issues but nowhere near as many. I've been trying to track down the cause forever and running into a 4k display is one of the last few things I can think of as being the issue. I wish I had a normal monitor to test my theory, but I don't. What else would cause such crazy CPU behaviour when the UI is open? It definitely seems to be a graphical issue in some way.

That´s what I suspect(ed), but I gave up on pursuing this further and uninstalled the worst-offending plugins back then. I remember a developer with whom I chatted back and forth about these issues suspected that the Intel onboard graphics wouldn´t play well with Open GL but he couldn´t work around that - or something like that (the methods he used for the screen redraws? something with shared memory? Can´t remember...).

Regarding the 4k thing, in theory lowering the screen resolution in the Mac´s settings should have the same effect as a lower-res monitor. I tried that back then (down to 1280x960!), and it didn´t do anything for me.

Just want to say thank you to Andre for helping me solve a latency/performance issue I've been having in FL Studio! If anyone else is having an issue just enable the OpenGL settings:

C:\Users\[USERNAME]AppData\Roaming\Vengeance\VPS Avenger\

Open "config_v2.xml"

Change the OpenGl line to: "<UseOpenGL value="true" />"

Any idea where we can find this on a mac?

As i suspected...

Most user configs are usually in your ~Library/Applications Support or ~Library/Preferences

Alternatively, EasyFind is an excellent tool to find files on the mac (I use it to truly uninstall plugs and apps I don't want on my computer...
